Grand and Lesser Apostate Delusions
by slimboyfat inwhat is it makes some of those wacky apostates appear from time to time claiming russell and the witnesses were/are all part of some great freemason/illuminati plot?
i'll tell you what it is, and it may explain a few other things for you too!
people who come up with these theories demonstrate a basic psychological insecurity stemming from their involvement and subsequent disentanglement from the witnesses.

PROOF JESUS DIED ON A CROSS
by Mary inwarning: some might find the descriptions here disturbing.
even though there is overwhelming evidence that jesus died on a cross and not an upright state, the organization still stubbornly clings to this feeble idea, siting of course, the ridiculous notion that, because the cross was a 'pagan symbol', jesus couldn't have died on it.
as if the romans gave a damn that the cross was pagan.

Damn those Pyramids!!!!
by Gill indamn those egyptian piles of rocks and stones, so skillfully put together without an instruction book as to what their 'true' or not so obvious uses are, or may have been!!!.
for nearly forty years, because of some blokes pyramidology fantasy i wasted my life and others have wasted their whole lives, waiting for something that was never going to happen in the first place!.
now, i find myself reading up on pyramids!

I need a language expert - ref: Mizraim
by Beardo inhi chaps .... any help appreciated.
i am having a ridiculous conversation on another forum with a poster who insists that mizraim is not supposed to indicate the land of egypt within the bible texts.. she claims that freemasons (yep - i know) have shoe-horned egypt into the narrative to draw attention to the pyramids and the world of the occult.. i know that this is whacky stuff and my reasoning with her is not actually helping, as she insists that mizraim is a different land altogether, regardless of my pleadings.. i have searched the internet to aid my quest for knowledge, but i haven't found anything particularly useful to date.. so, can anybody who understands the original language explain to me why the name mizraim was altered to read as egypt?.
thanks .

The "generation" teaching - just to clarify!
by Beardo insorry to be a major pain in the ass - but could those " in the know " clear something up for me?.
is the " generation " teaching that was redefined during 1995 still taught to " interested ones " or have the wtbts totally removed this generation idea from their new literature, which is used to indoctrinate a person leading up to baptism?.
any enlightenment welcome.

Does the Watchtower use Gnostic principles to control its slaves?
by Gill inthe watchtower is noted for its extreme stand on many issues, including life and death issues.. i'm thinking of things such as blood, of course, christmas, birthdays, holidays, private marriage issues etc.. the recent watchtower on the 'antichrist' had me thinking of their criticism of gnostic beliefs and how they worded it is as follows~.
'ideas of a purely symbolic resurrection were later developed by a group called gnostics.
believeing that knowledge could be derived in a mystical way, gnostics combined apostate christianity with greek philosophy and oriental mysticism.
