  i have been reading the bible with a new perspective for some time, i guess i identify with drew s from a lot of his comments sound like what i think.

  i have been thinking about what i read without the wt influence and i would like to get ya'll's input on this scripture.. .

  revelation 20 1-6. to me it seems to indicate that satan will be bound "first" then the ressurection of those to rule with christ for a thousand years.. also.

  (Revelation 20:1-6) . . .And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 And he hurled him into the abyss and shut [it] and sealed [it] over him, that he might not mislead the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After these things he must be let loose for a little while.

  4 And I saw thrones, and there were those who sat down on them, and power of judging was given them. Yes, I saw the souls of those executed with the ax for the witness they bore to Jesus and for speaking about God, and those who had worshiped neither the wild beast nor its image and who had not received the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand. And they came to life and ruled as kings with the Christ for a thousand years. 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6 Happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him for the thousand years.

  i just wanted to tell you all how very much i loved each and every one of you.

  most of you know the last almost 2 months have been hell for me.

  from my dad's death, that i found out about on the internet, and was unable to go to having missed alot of work recently due to heart problems and tests.

  the reason for canning such a massive group of loyal workers with decades of service behind their belt was stated in the september km letter as:.

  "improved technology has made our shipping and printing facilities more efficient.

  this has reduced the need for volunteers in the bethel home.

  Regarding other books, this is a first in my experience. Recently the Daniel book was used for the book study (for the second time). A new edition of the Daniel book was released, but there was no official notice of what had changed. I know some circuit overseers made an ad hoc "cheat sheet" that was well circulated amoungst the rank and file.

  despite his busy schedule, paul was always eager to do more in jehovah?s service.. notice how using an ot example leaves jesus out of the picture.. [picture on page 29] fear of god is a precious heritage that parents can pass on to their children.

  REINSTATEMENT

  A disfellowshipped person may be reinstated when he gives clear evidence of repentance, demonstrating over a reasonable period of time that he has abandoned his sinful course and is desirous of having a good relationship with Jehovah and His organization. The elders are careful to allow sufficient time, perhaps many months, a year, or even longer, for the disfellowshipped person to prove that his repentance is genuine. When the body of elders receives a written plea for reinstatement, the judicial committee that disfellowshipped the person should, if possible, be the committee that speaks with the individual. The committee will evaluate the evidence of works of godly repentance on his part and decide whether to reinstate him at that time or not.

  If the person requesting reinstatement was disfellowshipped by another congregation, a local judicial committee may meet with the person and consider the plea. Thereafter, the local judicial committee will communicate with the body of elders of the congregation that disfellowshipped the individual, giving them its recommendation. The involved committees will work together in unity to ensure that all the facts are gathered and a just decision is made. However, the decision to reinstate is made by the original judicial committee of the congregation that took the disfellowshipping action. If some members of the original committee are no longer in the congregation or qualified to serve, other elders from the original congregation can be chosen to replace them.

  When the judicial committee is convinced that the disfellowshipped person is genuinely repentant and should be reinstated, an announcement of the reinstatement is made in the congregation where the individual was disfellowshipped. If the person is now in another congregation, the announcement will be made there as well. It should simply state: "[Name of person] is reinstated as one of Jehovah's Witnesses."

  The Bethel downsizing letter

  i was at the kh and the official discussion of the letter on the cover of the sept. kingdom ministry took place.

  the instructions were to include a discussion of how the need for workers in the field was great.. basically, the letter says that due to technology, less bethelites are needed, so many are being sent out into the field, with many congregations in the united states receiving the benefits of these "mature" publishers.

  yes, they actually said they were sending older ones packing from bethel.

  Are "Apostates" jumping the gun with their info on the WT to make a case?

  i take some of the things apostates say with a "grain of salt" because many times i think they embellish the truth to make the wt look bad to make their case.

  for example i have for years heard that the wt uses "satanic" images in their artwork but i have yet to see any proof of these accusations.

  i have heard that jw's no longer practice "disfellowshipping" but my teenage niece was recently "disfellowshipped".

  Service talk on changes at Bethel, layoffs, spirit of urgency

  last week an elder who has served in bethel gave the service meeting talk, which referred to the front page of the sep km (which i don't yet have) on the governing body's letter to all publishers.. he started by saying that "drastic times call for drastic measures" - bethel was going through periods of rapid change.. he referred to a symposium given by brother jaracz and splane last december, where they tried to brush off the layoffs saying everyone had to keep "up with jehovah's celestial chariot".

  bethelites were being reassigned to the field, and this would be difficult for them.

  some in bethel who were being reassigned had been there 20 or 30 years.
