Isn't it wonderful?!? Kinda makes you feel sorry for all the JW's laboring under their taskmasters...

Did you ever preach door to door on a Christmas day?
by JH in.
i don't know if it's only our congregation or every congregation was the same, but no door to door was organized on christmas day.
that was the only day of the year that the jw's in our area wouldn't go pest people.. wonder why?

I don't ever remember going out in service on any holiday. That was usually the time for us to hide away in our houses and pretend to be happy.
Which really means it was one of the few times I got to sleep in.

Do you view life differently since you quit the JW Org?
by JH in.
where are your priorities now?
or do you just live life one day at a time, without worrying about anything.

there is no sense of dread and misery now in my life
This is me also. All it took was a loud plane to fly over for my stomach to knot up and I would cringe. You dread everything... the next meeting, field service, disfellowshipped people, guilt for pretty much everything.
It's nice to take off the "grey colored glasses" so to speak and see everything in it's full color. It's nice to know that there's actually good people out there and good things in the world that you can not feel guilty over taking pleasure in.

Aren't they awesome? I've watched them multiple times, along with the thousand hours of extras.
Now you need to read the books... they're just as kick ass.

I think others suffer from the same obsessive compulsive holiday disorder you do... In fact I just watched a program about it last night.
It was on HGTV, and they related "symptoms" such as spending over $200K on decorations, collecting over 2000 Santas (enough to fill an entire family room year round), filling yards and houses to every last square inch with lights and displays. Although the symptoms may be different than yours, I think the malady is the same. My advice? Roll with it! These people seemed very happy in their mania, but they embraced it!
Instead of redarranging the tree, maybe you should add other decorating around the house. You need a creative outlet.

Need help! Have you read Randy's books?
by bythesea inhey gang, i have been searching for a way to dent my hubby's mindset on the theology of jws and came across two books by randy watters that i wondered if any of you had found useful.
"refuting jws" and "the truth will set you free".
if any of you have read these i'd appreciate some feedback from you before ordering them.

and my JW son saw it on my table and called my husband who proceeded to hurry home while I was at work and go into our computer and find my correspondence with an exJW woman!
What??? Nothing like getting treated like a child! I wonder if they realize their actions speak volumes about the mind control?
The books by David Reed and Ron Rhodes are good ones. I have them at home and refer to them constantly. Good luck with everything!

SEND WATCHTOWER A MESSAGE - Keep clicking on this link
by DevonMcBride in.
if they see a large amount of hits on their blood brochure during the next several weeks, it will send a message to watchtower that we are aware of kerry's article.

I read the whole article... it was hard..., but I managed...
What struck me is the fact that all of their "medical" quotes were from the 80's. Yeah... they're on the cutting edge alright. It seems their using quotes from journals during a time when people we're still scared of getting AIDS from transfustions. Not only that but the field of medicine progresses very quickly. You're talking 15 years ago... that's the ice age to medicine today. There was ONE quote from 1990, thats it.

Out of the Mouth of Babes...
by RichieRich inso this week on the service meeting there was a part in the km about divine education.
true to form, it was another anti-college, pro-pioneering propaganda piece put out by our buddies in brooklyn.. in the third paragraph, it babbled forth about how colleges and universities don't teach people to overcome racism, tribalism, and something else.
(someone please post scan on dec. 2005 km front page).

OK, Now you got me to thinking, Jesus obviously could read...He was only a poor carpenters son, so where did he get his education? Yeah.... I've thought about this too.
Jesus persued education in his trade until he was what? 30? No mention of him preaching (except the childhood Temple incident) until after his baptism. Until then he was presumably learning to be a carpenter.
So tell me again why education is bad?

FULL OF DREAMS BUT NOWHERE TO GO
by stillAwitness ini had a talk last week(by the way thanks to everyone who helped me out
but the brother gave me such "loving counsel" letting me know i have to work on the study point again: use of an outline beacause i was supposed to actually write out an outline instead of just reading straight from the script.

I feel your pain! Well.... felt it.
And I did just what you're suggesting... although it wasn't a greyhound, it was a plane. Best thing I ever did.
Worse thing you could do is ever let go of your dreams, don't ever do that or you're a goner.
Isn't the KMS just great??? (sarcasm) It's all that college level public speaking class replacement. After a few years of that you should be damn near Masters Degree level! Who needs college???

It's telling about what the next generation of JW's is going to be like. So many children that have had no social exposure and have had their heads filled with fear about the "world" are going to grow up and make the JW's into a creepy, reclusive, socially disfunctional group. Even more so than they are now. This is the future of the Witnesses.... sad. It's almost like social inbreeding.
