Paying for the pioneer
by Thegoodgirl inhi guys, let me get your opinion on this:.
my mom's a pioneer, so she scrapes by on little money, refuses to work overtime, and tries to even survive on part time entry level work.
she can survive, but when it comes to getting appliances fixed, going on vacation, buying new clothes, she has to rely on others gifts and donations to her.. i want her to come visit me, and i need to pay for her ticket.

parent murder due to medical negligence: Dateline
by Thegoodgirl indid anyone see the dateline special tonight: a mom was accused of murder because her diabetic daughter died, and the mom wasn't controlling the girl's blood sugars at all?
(the mom was taught and literally said "don't tell me how to take care of my own daughter.
") the girl dies at like age 9 or so, and her hemoglobin a1c was 16.1. normal is about 6.5, and 12 would be really high, 16.1 is astronomical.

Remember the not-at homes?
by Thegoodgirl inthat obituary post reminded me of those awful weekday mornings knocking on entire neighborhoods of not-at-homes.
i remember one particular neighborhood in florida where it was one big trailer park of "snowbirds" who would move back up north for the summer.
however, being the thorough jws that we were, we would knock on every single door, leaving magazines, etc, even if the awnings were down and it was obvious no one would be livng there for months.

Oprah on Wed 3/22 about unexpected tragedies
by Thegoodgirl indid anyone see oprah yesterday (wed 3/22)?
i'm wondering what you thought of it.. the guy named justin cabezas (who killed the woman and her daughter in a car crash by drag racing) was in my high school class.. i just wanted to say he truly is a very nice guy.
i remember he actually was kind of quiet but very smart and a deep-thinker.

Cote, Chkowski, Florida
by Thegoodgirl inhey, i haven't been here in a while, but reading over some of the posts (especially those about being disfellowshipped/reproved according to the local rules of the congo instead of "repentant" or not) got me fondly remembering the little fights/conflicts in my hometown congregation, and wondering if those families who put up with it are still in the organization or are sitting here venting about their unfair past.
so the names of the families in the subject line should ring a bell to anyone from my hometown congregation.. at any rate, always good to see new names on the board.
more leaving, more getting help.. happy thanksgiving everyone, enjoy.
