Stupidest thing a JW ever told you
by Nosferatu inwhat is the stupidest thing a jw ever told you?
we all know that they say a lot of stupid things, but what really topped the cake?.
for me, it was an elder telling me i was progressing really well when my meeting attendance was down and my field service hours were slipping.

Tools To Fight Depression - intriguing newsarticle
by Billygoat insince there is another recent thread on depression i thought i'd share this article i got on my wall street journal healthwatch - it was a link to cbsnews.
although i can't say i'd do this treatment unless i had no options, i found the article interesting.
but more and more studies are proving depression is a physiological problem and not the stigmatized mental illness.

2003 DISTRICT CONVENTION OF JW'S ?
by Blueblades infrom the authorized site of the office of public information:.
in turbulent times dominated by fear and insecurity, those who attend the 200 upcoming three and four day programs of bible education in some 62 cities across the united states can expect to be spiritually refreshed and rejuvenated.. jw's 2003 d.c.will carry the theme"give god glory".. does anyone know why there are three days and then four days in different cities?will they cram four days of spiritually refreshing and rejuvenating programs of bible education into three days in some cities and then stretch it into four days in some other cities?.
are they also talking about their" own "turbulent times dominated by fear and insecurity.. blueblades

Interesting phenomena regarding Witnesses
by JamesThomas infirst, and most important: thanks to all those who read my introduction-post last saturday, and especial thanks to those who replied.
like many who have been disfellowshipped (and especially those raised in the org) i've been dragged through icy waves of agonizing hurt and anger; often followed by times of peace and letting go; only to be hit by another turbulent and bitter bout of animosity and grief.
the tides do run deep, don't they.

WOULD YOU BE AN ACTIVE WITNESS IF????
by minimus inwould you be an active witness or even an inactive one if you could change a few things?
for example: let's say the blood issue could be resolved, would you stay?
or if 1914 doctrine was dissolved or the disfellowshipping/ shunning view changed?
