No surprise, this forum is 'a public forum' accessable by viewing eyes on the www (World Wide Web).
If one is concerned about 'stalking' (word of the day), then perhaps they should NOT post to forums such as these.
I would hope an open and healthy debate (lost art)....arguement..rather, can be done so without resorting to accusations related to 'stalking' or 'harrassing'.
Some threads are predictable: like this one.
So, with that being said...now, and no doubt many times before, let's cool it with the barbs, insults and name calling.
If you are truly debaters: exchange e-mails, PM (personal messages) or if you're comfortable enough, perhaps phone numbers (not here), and discuss these things as adults.
You'd be surprised how useful those old tools are.

Simon Said "What do you think makes a terrorist? Why would someone chose to die in a suicide attack? These people do not wake up one day and decide "hey, I think I'll blow up some Yanks". They already know what pain and suffering is which is why I don't think that trying to cause more of it helps. It just creates more people with a grudge. The extremists with a religious message can then take advantage of them and channel their anger into action. The terrorist of today are the children of the oppressed of yesteryear and the action we take today will be making the terrorists for the future."
While I agree with most of what you say, Simon, am I to understand that the above explanation can also be used in support of groups like the IRA. After all, they seem to fit all of the above - The Irish knew/know what pain and suffering is (look at their history at the hands of the British!). The Irish terrorists are the children of the oppressed. Many say that the British are responsible for making the IRA what they are today etc etc. I know many people will not support Bush and his war but will wholeheartedly support the UK government and their fight against the IRA. They both seem like the same thing to me??? As far as I am concerned, a terrorist is a terrorist no matter what the cause if they seem to think violence against innocent people is justified.
And another thing - this war on terror - can it be extended to the streets of Britain? My estate lives in terror every night with burnt out cars, muggings, burglaries, crime etc. I'd definitely support that sort of war.

Phantom Stranger,
Simon always likes to make some kind of bizzare argument that America gave Iraq its arms. I was just pointing out with a little sarcasm that Iraq was armed by other countries. Russia, and France to name a couple.

TH,
Yeru, nice assholish statement, I guess you don't believe in the constitution? Thanks for helping set up the new American Prison, now go away you traitor.
Again, in what ways have any of your personal freedoms been curtailed since 9-11...and how many lives are your personal freedoms worth?
OK,
No connection to 9-11...the Taliban???Are you crazy? ummm let's see...providing protection to Bin Ladin...having the opportunity to hand him over to the US and not doing it.
Czech intelligence STILL TO THIS DAY insists the meeting between Ata and an Iraqi intelligence agent took place...and there's still this training camp in Iraq where people were trained to take over air liners with no guns...hmmm...yep no connection.
CLINTON TRIED TO GET BIN LADIN? Ha...when? At least twice he was offered up to Clinton on a silver platter and he turned it down...if you call bombing an aspirin factory and an EMPTY terror training camp "almost" getting Bin Ladin...great...cuz that's all the closer Clinton got.
Kids the War on Terror is a good thing...it's not poverty that makes a terrorist...Bin Ladin is RICH...it's not poverty that drives people to blow themselves up...nor is it oppression (and the oppressors are the governments of these individuals...not the U.S.
Ok, I'm sorry your friend couldn't get to his house...but that was Canada playing politics...not the US.

Yeru-
Sometimes a PM will only have the subject line for a bit and then the text shows up later .

Charles you, Phantom, and hamas run around looking for a verbal fight and then cry when someone finally bites. The term is punk. If you want a order of protection against someone it's going to be hard to get when every post you make has four letter comments to someone. I recorded all your posts of late. I look forward to handing them to any court of your choice. Maybe they will give you a nice stay at one of those top notch hospitials in Seattle. What's frightening is it seems you think you are running for office I'd doubt you even have the C note it costs to file a restraining order. Oh yes, after you threaten to beat Lew up, "Kick his face in" wasn't it? Now you think that you are in danger??? Take the meds dude.
Phantom & Hamas & you push and push but if anyone barks back slam the little lock goes up. Then you claim that you are victims, the double standard is such crap! Maybe some of us don't kiss the right ass to get away with insults here in the public discussion.

Jayson:
1) If I said anything that you feel personally insulted you, then I apologize here in public for doing so. I certainly have disagreed with you very directly, and I have a feeling I may do so again. I may have been too "flip" or "smart-alecky" about your communication style.I did try to make some points about it that I think were worth making, and I stand by them.
2) I have attempted to point out that you consistently communicate like a very angry person. That's the experience I have from reading almost all your posts. Others seem to share that experience. Whether or not I'm a kiss-ass jerk has nothing to do with the validity of others experiencing you and your communications as angry. Think about it, please.
3) When somebody lets you know how you are coming across, it's because they think you can learn something from it. It's actually a kind of compliment - someone has to think you might benefit from it, to spend the time on you. They're not just trying to mess with your head, man.

“Whether or not Communists had infiltrated the government is a moot point. It did not give McCarthy, Roy Cohn, or anyone in either the Senate or House the right to destroy the lives of hard working Americans with false accusations.”
A moot point? Communists WERE proved to be in some of the highest offices in the US, influencing and advising even presidents. Secret intelligence was being passed along to the Soviet Union which resulted in a serious threat to the nation.
So a few of the Hollywood elite weren’t able to make pictures for a while. Some were “embarrassed”. My heart goes out to them. What about the millions of impoverished people who were imprisoned, tortured, or even killed by totalitarian communist regimes? What about the clear, obvious threat to national security and safety as a result of welcoming soviety spies and double agents into the highest offices of our land?
