Trump may add value to the American economic infrastructure but he does so in a manner of being faintly corrupt and dishonest in the endeavoring process.

I think for various reasons that it required someone like Trump to fix or try and reset the system. Anyone who is part of the establishment is going to perpetuate all the issues that already exist because of it and the chance of having some super-nice personality come and smash things up is simply too unlikely to ever happen.

You only get Trump's fixes by having Trump's flaws.

The biggest issue right now is the media - they are there to influence and to bias the electorate, not to educate or hold politicians to account consistently. Now social media companies who could have provided free-flow of information are shown up to be just as biased and just as likely to cause damage.

To imagine that these things don't feed into and corrupt the politics would be naive. And yet many seem happy to have this be the case ... based on which side is momentarily benefitted rather than seeing the damage to the system long-term.

This to me is one of the most frightening trends in the political landscape right now, with terrible implications. Mainstream media is a joke, but now the powers that be behind google and youtube are taking a frightening slant on censorship. I don't believe they are SUPPOSED to be a place for free speech, they have that choice, but they present themselves that way and that is a problem. Demonetizing anyone who speaks outside of their narrative, and not even on anything that radical. Dave Rubin had a video demonetized that was simply his opinion on why socialism is not cool. If you are really paying attention right now to what is going on with idea and discussion censorship in this country, I will tell you it's not Trump, it's not the GOP, it's not conservatives of any kind that are pushing us towards 1984.

No. I thought or hoped he'd shed his persona and act like a president. He has had a couple of highlights but they really served to underscore his unsuitability for this position in 2018, or indeed, this millenia.

Melania has acted like a lady. I still think she made a deal with the devil in marrying him, but it's not like I've made great choices, so. . .she's protecting her son and that's her job right now, imo.

I wish no ill will to the president, I just think he should go back to his local Mmcdonalds near his home base and play his games in trump tower. Not the seat of government.
