Most witnesses have their heads in the sand. No one is batting an eye at this.
You think they’re stupid? Obviously, no one stops serving unless they no longer qualify. Everybody knows this unless they are “new in the truth”. The real reasons why a person is removed may not be disclosed unless a lot of people know about it.

Obviously, but morris isn't just some smuck jw who no longer qualifies, he is on par with Jesus Christ, holy and anointed, hand picked . So the teaching goes. Even someone "new in the truth" can "see" this.
Breaking news! Finally we know!
As it turns out, the issue with Tony goes back for quite some time. AMIII had been growing disillusioned with organization more and more as time went on. He finally reached his breaking point in November of 2021. Desperate to find a way out, he began reaching out to the exJW community. His plan was to go public, and perhaps write a tell-all book (like Franz), retire, and hopefully spend his final years in peace.
He finally found someone he could trust, someone with a way of distributing his confessions to the world. It's never been disclosed who he sought out, but all we do know is that in order to stay under the radar, he arranged to meet this person in Thailand sometime in December of that year.
Morris packed up his evidence and took a secret flight over. But people that know Anthony, and who saw him after he got back, have said he returned from that meeting disappointed, sad, and empty. Later, witnesses would see him in the cafeteria rocking ever so slightly front-to-back and mutter under his breath: "just control it".
Worried about his mental health, AM was referred to a psychiatrist. The witnesses that escorted him to his appointments remember screams coming from inside, and loud confessions: "It went on for days! He had no control over his penis at all!!! I was forced to wear tight corduroy chaps and a brown wig."
Later he met with a judicial committee, and after telling the entire truth - which we will never fully know - they felt sorry, extended mercy.
It sounds like he's been through a lot.

I myself think there was a problem and he was removed. Whether or not the real reason will leak out remains to be seen.
I know this thread started out somewhat serious, but I’d hate to see it turn into something ridiculous.

Apparently you haven't seen the forums of active JWs talking about this topic. A good amount of them are theorizing he had to step down for 'health reasons'.

You don’t know what they think. Besides, the proximate cause of disqualifying conduct is kindly mitigated as PTSS for example. He did serve in VN as I highlighted before. And that can be taxing

That does not apply in every instance. I served as an elder for many years and took a breather and stopped serving for a few years about twenty years ago. I had my own reasons for this, nothing to do with no longer being qualified. I served as an elder again later until finally I found out about all the money-grabbing the GB were putting in place (I was doing congregation accounts at the time), and all the other dodgy stuff like the generation teaching and other doctrinal gymnastics. I resigned again despite the desperate attempts by the coordinator of the body of elders to get me to change my mind and stay on. They made the normal announcement and maybe some were wondering why and suspected I had been up to no good. If anyone asked I quoted family responsibilities, which was actually part of the reason for my departure. Most accepted this and didn’t treat me as if I had done anything wrong. Even now I get asked to do stuff on the meeting and so on, in the hopes of getting me to serve again. So you can stop serving without everyone thinking you no longer qualify.
