FHN: I find at times, for me, there are still things to work on.

    Amen to that.

What I find annoying is people that think they have nothing to work on.

The most interesting people are all a work-in-progress!

There's a comfort in being around people who are aware of their own shortcomings and need for growth. When people apologize to me for very human things they do, I tell them that I feel the most comfortable around imperfect people who are aware of their imperfections. Imperfection is more interesting.

Why do some people confuse the popularity of an opinion with its veracity?

Because a truth can be spken, but if it's done in a rude, and off-putting way, it WILL be ignored or challenged.

We are adults. We need to temper our thoughts, if we want to be heard.

It's part of "Grown Up Person 101".

One last thought,,,,,,,,,,,,, as far as elder behaviour goes.

"If the shoe fits, wear it."

    Food for thought.

It is like AAA meeting where you get the guy to admit he has a problem is the first step toward dealing with the problem with any measure of success.

Interesting example. AA is a practically a cult unto itself with exactly the the same success rate of dealing with the issue on your own.

I look at that in exactly the opposite manner. Because we ARE adults, we should be able to look beyond a facade and see the real value of something, good or bad. Dismissing something because of perceived issues with tone is the childish way to behave.
