So, unexpectedly, the final talk was announced today and to my surprise and evil glee, they announced Gerrit Loesch as the speaker! First off, at the beginning of his talk, he interrupted himself in the middle of his sentence to scold the microphone brother to lower my mike it's right in my face.

Anyway, It was the talk on Inspired Truth, vs. Inspired Falsehoods. He went through 6 expressions inspired by the demons. I'll share three of the gems with you.

Number 4 falsehood was "higher education has nothing wrong with it because it is a conscience matter". He gave three reasons it is demon-inspired:

    1) Studies show that most kids go to college to receive higher paying jobs. No shit, really?

    2) college education makes you look down on people, knowledge puffs up. Except for the people who learned the truth after college, they're ok because they learn true humility in the org. Seriously, he said that.

    3) college education tends to encourage people to rely on and try to "save" this system, making the end seem further away than it is. Really? They've been teaching this hogwash for 120 years. I'm sorry, it's time for a stream-of-time reality check.

Number 5 was that it was a demon inspired expression to say once-a-child-abuser, always-a-child-abuser. Child abusers can change so we can't condemn them. Interesting tact, given the Candance Conti trial right now. I guess they're preparing a counter-attack talking about their position of mercy, while in the same breath he said that a habit of viewing "gross" pornograhy would require one to be disfellowshipped from the congregation. Really!? Double standard, anyone?

The last demon-inspired expression was the belief that Internet dating was ok. Clearly, a work of the devil. Heaven forbid all those single people at these desert-quality conventions with no one to date actually turn somewhere else to find a mate.

Anyway, phe ended up going overtime to boot, which LOL was probably the single biggest demon inspired expression of the day.

The program today was otherwise total drivel. There was a stupid drama that showed a dude conversing with Job in paradise (major play on the heart-strings) and another dumb skit about how immigrant workers need to go back to their home countries or not go at all.

    complete regurgitated crap.

    Lucky You!

Anyway, sounds like the same ole stuff. College and chicks dating worldly guys must really be hurting them. It seems that is all they talk about these days.

What was the deal with the immigrant bashing? Haven't heard that one, stuff like that will go over like a lead balloon.

    Thanks for sharing that.

They are dangerously ignorant. A pedophile will always be sexually attracted to children.

Dude did he really say that about child molesters???

Not that I dont believe you but if I could get that sound byte I could get 4 people I know to leave the org TODAY

He really did. My FiL I think taped it - there were a few things hubby and I wanted to rehear and we had a hard time pulling it up, but I'll see if I can get you a recording.

so hm paedophiles are there in the Bethel/GB ? what a jerk!

His crack about educated people trying to save the system-- the educated ones, they are living responsible lives by taking on as they can a broader responsibility around them.

Broader responsibility. I will give you one example to an ailing planet. How many jw have ever planted trees? The wts has used countless trees in their publications which become useless in a few years as the information is outed in favour of their "new light" which seems to dangle usually from the sharp end of a law suit.

and suggest that the magazines and books that are old be recycled and watch the reaction.

Wish I had been there I would have given the jerk a swift lesson in reality!

once-a-child-abuser, always-a-child-abuser. Child abusers can change so we can't condemn them.

Being that the Org. is finding it more difficult to find men willing to be Elders and ministerial servants, I'm sure the above-quoted statement will be used to justify re-appointing or retaning pedophile elders.

This seems to be a shift in the traditional approach of WT, namely, of NEVER appointing a pedophile to a cong. position once convicted.
