That's a ludicrous idea. I am also not afraid of tarantuals invading my home. Not being afraid of something silly says nothing about anyone's mentality.

Across several States the Guns Across America rallies have turned out thousands of gun supporters. Texas Representative Steve Toth spoke to his audience declaring 'this president is using children as a human shield to advance his very liberal agenda'.

Well then Steve Torth is stupid.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me what's wrong with the "Warrior mentality". Any good society needs warriors. It's not a disease.

DD- There are legitmate fields where a person can carry a firearm to protect the public like Law Enforcement, the Military, DEA, FBI etc.. For those Christians here who believe in the Second Coming and the Final Judgement you should be fully satiated with the killing off of 7.5 Billion of us and sending us to the realms of eternal punishment.

5 hurt in shootings at gun shows in Ohio, Ind., NC

Associated Press – 15 hrs ago

MEDINA, Ohio (AP) — Accidental shootings at gun shows in North Carolina , Indiana and Ohio left five people injured Saturday, the same day that thousands of gun advocates gathered peacefully at state capitals around the U.S. to rally against stricter firearm limits.

At the Dixie Gun and Knife Show in Raleigh, a 12-gauge shotgun discharged as its owner unzipped its case for a law enforcement officer to check at a security entrance, injuring three people, state Agriculture Department spokesman Brian Long said.

Two bystanders were hit by shotgun pellets and taken to a hospital. A retired deputy sheriff suffered a slight hand injury.

The shotgun's owner, 36-year-old Gary Lynn Wilson , brought the weapon to the show to find a private buyer, Long said. Sheriff Donnie Harrison said that it was too early to know whether Wilson might be charged but that it appeared to be an accident.

The North Carolina show, which is held at the state fairgrounds, is a quarterly event that usually draws thousands of people. The two-day show shut down early Saturday but will reopen Sunday.

In Indianapolis, police said a 54-year-old man was injured when he inadvertently shot himself while leaving a gun show.

Emory L. Cozee was loading his .45-caliber semi-automatic when he shot himself in the hand as he was leaving the Indy 1500 Gun and Knife show at the state fairgrounds, state police said. Loaded personal weapons aren't allowed inside the show.

Cozee, of Indianapolis, was hospitalized for treatment. Police say the shooting was accidental and no charges will be filed.

And in Ohio, a gun dealer in Medina was checking out a semi-automatic handgun he had bought Saturday when he accidentally pulled the trigger, injuring his friend, police said. The gun's magazine had been removed from the firearm, but one round remained in the chamber, police said.

Police Chief Pat Berarducci said it appears the bullet ricocheted off the floor and struck the friend in the arm and leg. The man was taken by helicopter to a hospital 30 miles north in Cleveland, Berarducci said. His condition wasn't immediately known.

The gun rallies held Saturday coincide with President Barack Obama's unveiling of a sweeping package of federal gun-control proposals in the wake of a Connecticut elementary school shooting that killed 20 first-graders and six educators last month.

3 Children, 2 Adults Dead in Albuquerque Shooting

    By ALYSSA NEWCOMB (@alyssanewcomb) Jan. 20, 2013

The bullet-ridden bodies of three adults and two children were found inside an Albuquerque, N.M., home late Saturday, authorities confirmed today.

A teenage boy was arrested and is being charged with two counts of murder and three counts of child abuse resulting in death, according to Deputy Aaron Williamson of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department.

The name of the boy has not been released, and his motive and connection to the victims was not immediately known, Williamson said.

"We're still in the early stages of the investigation, trying to determine, their identity and once we have everybody identified, then we'll be able to determine whether or not there was any relationship among the deceased or the offender," Williamson said.

Authorities responded to the family home Saturday around 9:15 p.m., and found multiple casualties. An assault-type rifle, along with several other weapons, were recovered at the scene.

The victims, including an adult male and female, two girls, and one boy, appeared to have suffered "multiple gunshot wounds," Williamson said.

Final identifications of the victims are currently under way, he said.

    Horrible.

How could this have been prevented?

5 people shot multiple times. Once someone is dead you can keep shooting them until you are stopped or run out of ammo.

The average 9mm pistol holds a mag of 9 to 15 shots which can be fired as fast as the trigger can be pulled.

I really don't think "assualt weapons" are a key to the kind of slaughter of unarmed innocents we are seeing way too often.

IMHO - Time to go on defense.

LOL No one ever claimed that.

No, they are not. A Ruger SR9 can hold 17+1 rounds. At the range I have emptied 35 rounds, including the time to change magazines, in just over 20 seconds.
