  I agree with your assessment that such material is not appropriate at all for children. How the WTS justifies that material as being suitable discussion in a house of worship is beyond me. This usurps the parents' rightful role in educating their children, and frankly I think some JW parents are grateful to be unburdened in this regard and particularly regarding the topic of sexuality.

  I grew up with deaf friends at school, family who interpret, friends who interpret and deaf workmates. I love how expressive deaf people are and relish any opportunity to communicate with them as you can talk with your whole body and really get into it. We had one friend who was quite rotund and when talking about him in conversation, his name was never used, to indicate you were talking about him, you laid your palms face down flat in front of your chin then made an outward arc down to to your belly button demonstrating the big gut. His name in sign wasn't John, it was Big Tummy. Not a nickname, that was the sign for him.

  This video is not intended for hearing people so it is not necessarily intended that they understand it. It is a different language. They may use english words, but it is not English. Like when you hear someone speak pidgin english. You might understand what each individual word is, but the way they string those english words together is not in a way our english speaking brain can comprehend it.

  I think what has got people's attention here is that the interpreter is really expressive, even rolling back his eyes while making the stroking motions, really adding to the 'Aww yeah' moment. Don't forget too that most witnesses who give talks that include the topic of masturbation, talk about it but don't talk about it, if you get my meaning. To see it visually demonstrated in a public religious forum, and the question of why the WTS feels the need to include this on a list of vital topics is what has got people's attention.

  Like so many parental responsibilities, JWS think all one has to do is read the Watchtower Corporation's literature or go and listen to one of their sales

  representatives give a public talk on various subjects. Unfortunately the WTS and its spokesmen are not educated on human sexuality among the

  many variuos aspects of human social behavior. They do try to emulate the set social morals though of a civilzation that existed 3000 years ago

  in the middle east.

  A video about the evils of masturbation, is way off course, the GB need a new image, a change from the maniacal control freaks that go so far as to make sure the deaf know the wrongness of relieving sexual pressure in this way,,or god forbid actually enjoy such a no no from Jehovah perverted viewpoint.

  To a knew image of acceptance and tolerance. No more camel train philosophy being their guiding light but that of reasonableness and a little pity on the deaf and ease up on these nuerotic phobias having to do with pleasing a vengeful tresspass remembering Deity.

  I highly doubt that this video would be broadcast in a Kingdom Hall™ Meeting™ where families with small children would be present, because that isn't the target audience.

  I was in a class for JWs to learn sign language and attended a deaf cong for a while. One thing I do remember is that inappropriate things were spelt out NOT signed..

  Just because youre deaf doesnt mean youre stupid, isnt it more appropriate for a bunch of prudes to point or spell the issue, they know what masturbation is. Now theres a whole bunch of horny deaf JWS out there.
