EP - Take it outside, dickhead! WTF HAS ANY OF YOUR RANT HAVE TO DO WITH THIS THREAD?

Go cry me a river and be a baby somewhere else. Had you bothered to read the thread you would understand exactly what it has to do with it.

A lot of folks let off steam verbally(or on the net) Nobody takes them literally.

That's why they're called internet tough guys. Read, understand, THEN comment. Consider this a free lesson.

    whose the Internet bully now?

People that threaten others and suggest slander and libel over the internet. Hmmm... who might have done any of that on this thread.... oh, that's right, you and factfinder! Guess we know who the bullies are now. Thanks for asking! Now we know.

I may get another one - mine is really big, but I do love it. How do you find the honeing? Is it difficult?

Honing is easier than stropping. To hone, you just need a wetstone of at least 8000 grit. wet it, lay the razor flat (the curve of the raze when it lays flat provides the correct honing angle) and gently push it across the hone in a diagonal fashion. Flip it, repeat. I hone about once every two months, strop about every two weeks. to hone you push the shaving edge of the razor across the hone.

I did learn (from experience) that stropping is best done if you hold the strop tight, move the razor quickly, put light pressure on the back edge of the blade as opposed to the shaving edge. And try not to cut your strop in half :). Stropping is done pulling the shaving edge away from the strop.

Come to NC, we'll practice stropping and shave each other...

    ET,

Shaving each other? That seems a little gay.... ;D

You say stropping is harder? :0 I strop before and after every shave. It freaks me out that I"m doing something wrong and I'll wreck my blade...

** threatens everyone again with his straight razor ** >:0

Honing is cake. Stropping is harder (at least for me). Once you get a good strop done, you don't need to strop for a few weeks (depending on how much you shave, 2 or 3 times a week for me). If you have to strop every shave you need to strop better. I had my local barber who gives straigh razor shaves show me how. He strops every day, but then he uses his razor on customers 10 or 12 times a day.

It took me a few months to learn how to strop properly. I was having to strop every shave until I had a pro show me how. I actually bought a few older razors from my barber and am restoring the blades and using them. I have gotten addicted to the straight razors. I went from owning one to owning three.

Thanks for the advice. It seems like an expensive habit! I'm loving it so far. Thanks again, and I hope you burn in hell for having an opinion about the dogs, or whatever.... ;D

    EP,

Your point has been made. ff just doesn't get it. Maybe she never will.

    ff,

I think the point EP is trying to make (albeit a bit aggressively) is that you appear to have judged watersprout's neighbor without there being any evidence to prove her guilt. Everyone, bat-shit crazy or otherwise, should be regarded innocent until proven guilty.

Has anyone heard of the case of the West Memphis Three? Three young men in Arkansas who were tried and convicted for the deaths of three young boys without a single shred of evidence to prove their guilt. One of these young men is currently on Death Row. The reason for their conviction? Basically, it was because these boys wore black and were known to listen to Metallica. One of the young men that was convicted of this crime is mentally challenged. A "confession" was essentially badgered and coerced out of him by the local police investigators without his parents (he wa a minor at the time of questioning) or an attorney present.

Just because 'sprout's neighbor is a crazy, evil old crone, it doesn't make her a dog killer.

Personally, I would like to find out what is really happening to the poor dog, so the problem can be treated and cured. By all means, if the neighbor proves to be the culprit, pursue everything the law will dish out. Just don't convict her on a hunch. Have solid evidence to back your claims.

Less expensive than my scotch and cigar habit.

    Man, I heard that!

Luckily, I work for Diageo as a Brand Ambassador for their whisk(e)y portfolio, so I always have good scotch in the house. (Johnnie Walker and the single malts that go into the JW blends).

I do, however, have to buy my own cigars. Many of the tribal casinos in the area have cigar bars/shops that sell at a pretty good price. I found one that sells my favorite go-to cigar, the Sancho Panza Double Maduro Quixote at a very reasonable price.

.....Sorry to derail the thread. Now back to the dog!!!
