  Even as late as this year, the Society still continues to make statements that would encourage members to “speculate” to maintain a “sense of urgency” among Witnesses. The January 15, 2000 Watchtower page 13, paragraph 18 states:

  “Sixth, the number of genuine anointed disciples of Christ is dwindling, though some will evidently still be on earth when the great tribulation begins. Most of the remnant are quite elderly, and over the years the number of those who are truly anointed has been getting smaller. Yet, referring to the great tribulation, Jesus stated: "Unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.” (Matthew 24:21, 22) Evidently, then, some of Christ’s “chosen ones” will still be on earth when the great tribulation begins.”

  Mad, I'm not sure I expect that to happen. There will be too many who believe they are sincerely anointed yet realize the GB is a sham. By the time they begin putting the pressure on the "anointed" again (which, by the way, they never really let up on in the last couple of years - witness the ridiculous "mental strain" and other articles, which apparently failed to stem the tide), there will be so many "anointed" who are fed up with the Tower's bullshit they'll either take over the org, form a splinter group, or leave altogether.

  Since many of the partakers are probably fake, and those who are not fake are not important anyway, why don't they just show a video of the governing body partaking of the emblems on Memorial night and let it go at that?

  Maybe some of them just realize that its for anyone who wishes to partake, and certainly not something to deny.

  It proves it, the end already came but we missed it and the number is growing because the anointed are resurrected. End came invisibly while the anointed are resurrected in the flesh.

  They will have to share new light on this one with the rest of us, but it is surprising that they still print this number as it's growing. GB must still be believing their own crap to be honest enough to print a ridiculous ever increasing number of partakers.

  Evidently - again the password when stating a weak or unprovable idea. Well - duh...there has to be a governing body all the way to the tribulation - thus, there has to be at least 7 or 9 annointed left (by JW logic). Actually, that handful are the only annointed who count for anything anyway.

  So, what happens to the governing body people after the tribulation? They just keep getting older and die while everybody else is living forever? They get raptured? Surely they cannot just get killed during the tribulation like the evil worldly non-witnesses??? What will the whole earth, now with only non-annointed Armageddon survivors do for guidance without them?

  Does anyone have the capability of creating a graph comparing the rate of publisher growth in the org to the number of partakers? One thing some people will say in response is "as more people come into the truth there of course are a higher percentage of people who will partake.

  The graph showing how the increase of partakers far outpaced the increase of pubs should stifle that lame argument.

  Odd that the lowest number of partakers ever was in 2005.....only 5 yrs ago.

  There are now about 3000 more partakers than in 2005.
