Olin Moyles Ghost has a good post going about this. He has an interesting quotation from the 93 awake and an illustration. Check it out!

In this issue of the WT, it's explained that the WT Soceity does not interpret anything. Jehovah gives them the information directly. So, if anything is wrong, this would mean that Jehovah gave them wrong information. Very reassuring.

Please explain, using Biblical references, the difference between "spirit inspired" and "spirit directed".

    Sir82,

Here is a reference in the WTS own words that they are both the same

get your Reasoning Book out and turn to page 380, Under the heading of

Spirit, you will find under # 4 it says( inspired utterances originating with an invisable source.)

now look on the top of page 381 the last sentence sayS: ( "It is not a person but is a powerful force that God causes to emanate

from himself to accomplish his holy will. ") Spirit directed.

you can't separate inspiration from holy spirit. In the Sept 15, 2010 WT they claim what they write is from God not men

there is no way to claim works from God, and at the same time say your not inspired.

Thank you for posting these articles. I run into the same arguements when talking to my husband. He feels like they never made prophecies and therefore aren't a false prophet.

He also runs into the thought stopping worldwide unity, global preaching work, no trinity, no immortality of the soul business.

BrotherDan - A former elders wife was deeply disturbed about the Malawi incident, and her and her husband left a few years back over the UN issue. Gentile Times Reconsidered is exellent for showing the issues with 607...and you can google to find a pdf. My husband would only look at the Biblical evidence, but the archeological and astrological evidence was very interesting.

So basically, they are the "prophet" class, spirit directed, and spirit inspired when they write this stuff down -

But, if it does not come true (and of course it never does) then they are NOT PROPHESYING and NOT SPIRIT INSPIRED???

Little kids can lie better than that...

    HI dan and Jwoods.

Please do not mix being a prophet with false prophecy.

    Did all prophets do prophecy?

Miriam moses sister was called a prophet yet there are no recorded prophecies from her among others .

Again though you are trying to redefine the already clearly defined biblical way of seeing false prophecy and it clearly says they have to claim to be able to say the very inspired words of Jehovah.

    With regard to 1914

"We are not prophesying; we are merely giving our surmises ... We do not even aver that there is no mistake in our interpretation of prophecy and our calculations of chronology. We have merely laid these before you, leaving it for each to exercise his own faith or doubt in respect to them"
    Zion's Watch Tower, January 1, 1908 (reprint) page 4110

You are trying to condemn them for surmising bible prophecy something we are told to do by Jehovah himself. It's a clear case of damned if you and damned if you don't in your eyes.

You are building a case against from your own definitions not the bibles. You are shutting the door for people to use God's biblical prophecies for fear of being called false prophets simply by using it and so just burying it unused in the sand out of fear.

WT - July 15th 1894 - "We see no reason for changing the futures- nor could we change them if we would. They are, we believe, God's dates, not ours."

Yes, the WTS is adept at "speaking out of both sides of its mouth."

    Did all prophets do prophecy?

Yes. Otherwise they would not have been called prophets.

The Watchtower Society has done numerous prophecies and called themselves prophets for years, as leavingWT and others have proved above.

As these prophecies did not come true - they are false prophets.

Anything else is pathetic excuse-making for the false prophecy.

    Hi Olin

Now olin print out the whole article which I'm sure showed how they used bible chronology inspired of God to decern those dates and so could say they are from Jehovah.

Using God's word the bible including bible prophecies and chronology is not a sin but a command. Even if we make mistakes we have to be humble enough to be refined when this happens.

    Daniel 11:35
Some of the wise will stumble, so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time.

You ask an extroadinary level of accuracy from the witnesses that simply isn't realistic or even biblical for God's people and never was.
