Bethelite Elder, I am curious. I know a couple, C.B. and J.B who were in Bethel for 20 years. They were "reassigned." But according to what I hear, THEY WANTED OUT OF BETHEL.
This is not the only couple I have heard of that want out. I think there are others that feel STUCK in Bethel, but who have no real reason to leave.
Yes, the Society is unfair in pushing so many long-timers out, but some WANTED out.
Have you seen any examples of this?

Do Bethelites discuss this climate of fear? Do they have to use the "cone of silence" to speak of their fears of being booted out on the curb? At Bethel, the portable Cone of Silence is probably a very useful tool. See it in the second video. "Maybe if we just act casual, nobody will notice."

Did ANY of them choose to leave because they say that what was going on on the families outside is WRONG??
How many please?? I bet if those being booted out could still get what they imagine is a free ticket, they would still toe the line, and support what is done to guys like G-buss.
As for the racialism - we see this kind of bias all the time.

Hell - I was DEPRESSED major at one point. (can't give details obviously). I got a phone call (after just lying in bed most days) I could hear there was a third party on the line.
But that's another tale.

Why condemn somebody here because you think they are condemning people they don't know?
Any body who was involved with the Borg knows that they condemn and mind read everybody elses motives all the time.
They condemn the Catholic Church, yet it does not throw out its nuns and priests and monks when they get to old to be exploited.
if you were happy to go along with it, fine. But don't criticise s.o. because they are more hardliner.
I admit that by Garybuss books I a a coward, because i choose not to implode my family. I choose not to be offended or upset. If an issue sufficiently important came up then i WOULD make a stand.
My mother does not know that I have already had her legally debarred from making any medical decisions on my behalf which are based on HER religious delusions. I shall be unconscious if she discovers this, so I dont care. If I survive, how she deals with it is not my problem.

Yes there were and are some Bethelites who took advantage of others.
There are also Bethelites that sincerely try to help others in the way they think is right, and they don't try to take advantage of anyone.
Yes, some Bethelites are being kicked out and are angry. But others WANTED out, and perhaps this might be the EYE-OPENING that they need.
