After reading everyone's post on this thread, here are my observations. There is obvious conflict real or imagined between old Ex-Bethelites including the rank and file of JWs that left in the 70's as represented by Gary and Neo Ex-Bethelites represented by Cessa and Danile-P,including those recently JW escapees. As would be expected, the WTS is the interlocking party, the pull of attraction before and now its JWN providing the needed platform to air our grievances, encouragements etc. At different periods, one after another left for various reasons.

Some developed effective coping strategies that have sustained them to this day (Gary, Randy, Barbara etc) while others are still figuring out (BonaFide, Cessa etc). Obviously, the level and intensity of experiences negative or positive with the WTS, have shaped their attitude toward the WTS and regular rank and file of JWs in a way unimaginable.

I do not want to sound judgemental but wish to emphasise the fact, that all of you are badly needed on this JWN site 'shephered' new escapees from the WTS just like I have benefited in less than two months. Also, let me sound a cautionary tone here. That all of us should be careful that what others post on this site will generate divergent interpretations and meanings.

Unable to accurately figure out the pre background of the poster, the level and intensity of demange and suffering sustained while inside the WTS, newly arrived ones (cessa etc) may be stumbled, thus adding 'insult to the injury'. Regardless of the period we exited the WTS, some of us are still undergoing a healing process and have permanent scars as reflected in some posts here. To them, venting out their anger is not only theraupetic but also provides a listening 'ear' and possible emotional healing toward recovery.

Additionally, after reading Gary's other posts on different threads, I get the impression that Gary has been adversely affected by the WTS experience in such a way that he acts and writes to reflect that feelings. I do not want to judge him at all. I think it would be appropriate to develop a healthy level of torelance for divergent opinions.I know its gonna be a challenge for everyone but we will and we can. Yes, we can. keep up and great cheers.

Some disgusting attitudes on this thread. How someone can come to the conclusion that it's fine to be insensitive and stereotypical and to flame people they don't know just because they managed to work out the WT was BS before them, never bought it, or 'are used to being screwed over by witnesses' is beyond me.

Gary you sound like you have a huge chip on your shoulder, and a nasty, aggressive attitude. Whether you have or not I have no idea - but you come across this way. Sounds like you have had some problems - that's tragic, but taking it out on others whose are not at fault for these problems is also tragic.

Most people here were brainwashed at some point, we all woke up at different times. NOONE here has the right to judge to another human, especially ones we don't know - doing that makes us as bad as people like the GB. I understand bitterness and even anger directed at the WT organisation at a whole. Individuals that think they are/were doing the right thing though, and have not 'seen the light' yet are hardly deserving of that.

To the ex-bethel people on here, not everyone is an arsehole so please don't judge all 'apostates' to be like this.

And yet here you are judging me and others. Typical two faced comment.

It's not at all two-faced. I judge you by your own comments. Go back and read your own comments.

I'm not OUT as you incorrectly ASSume I'm still a member in GOOD standing. I worship JEHOVAH not the ORGANIZATION. I do love yout tirades so bash this post PLEASE!!!!!! Since you were once a loyal Bethelite I do love when you use that "worldly" word FUCKING so use it as often as you wish.

Now THIS is hilarious. JW apologist loves it when I say a "bad word"! I have nothing more to say to you.

Cessa I have absolutely nothing against you. I'm sure if we met face to face we would become fast friends rather quickly. However, not speaking of you personally, but if the straw that broke the camel's back for ANYONE that was "let go" at the Tower of Bethel was only the fact that they now find themselves unemployed is rather a weak excuse to suddenly turn on an organization that has caused many to lose their lives. Jobs in the world are out there to be had and I hope you do well. However, those family members who have died because of the blood issue do not have that opportunity. Best of luck to you and please post your history here so it will open our hearts and minds to you.

Hey, danny boy I want to write a 21 chapter saga on my life to add to my biography here. I'd like to keep it under 500,000 words and one box of Kleenex long. Can you help me out please? Don't think my ego is as large as yours though, think you will tell me otherwise. PM me I on my comments that you are judging me on and WTF is a JW apologist? One of the things I learned in Vietnam as a medic was you DON"T run away from the injured you stay there under enemy fire and help them at the risk of your own life.

Cold Red, aren't you a puppy? We are talking about Bethel adopting the same downsizing practices of greedy corporations. There are many causes for today's economy problems. Why do you bring up socialism? Watching too much Fox?

    To Billy the EX-B

The FDS aka GB of the WBTS does a good job in mind control."biggest lie-Katrina rebuilding"

"If the home owners had money left that they wanted to donate, feel free" Oh yeah lay a big guilt trip

on the poor person,he will feel he has to give. They know how to screw with a persons mind, without

actually having to ask and get the results they want.

"That message was repeated several times over the loudspeaker while I was down there" FEEL FREE.

As a christan volunteer (who will work without compensation) will never ask, suggest or take a donation

even if it was volunteered. However, the greedy WBTS will make it known over a loudspeaker several times.

(They do that at DC) If I help out someone because I do so voluntaryly I would never suggest let alone

take any compensation even if was offered. That is what the WBTS SHOULD of done ie Katrina rebldg.

"During the time I was there down there no other such organized construction crews were in sight"

But were other people down there helping. You see that is the way the GB of the WBTS does things.

They want the HEADLINES and the public to believe that they are chariable. You do not see them

feeding the homeless, orphans, widows because it does not get the same attention.Reminds me of

Luke 18:11-14.Yes Billy "That is the organization I supported" However as the GB would say the

light gets brighter and brighter. For you the day is well along.

    Bob

    PS

You mentioned no other crews:Did not an auto parts person build many homes for free.

At one time we had lots of Bethelites in our congregation. For years if there was a job to be done, (a sister moving, an elderly person needing decorating) the mantra was ask the bethelites and despite being very visibly tired they never said no. If they had a saturday off it would invariably be taken up with odd jobs for members of the congregation. Heck there was waiting list for work to be done by bethelites on their days off.

It was only after my son went to Bethel that I realized how inhumanely hard they work - there is no time to think of anything else imo, let alone question the organisation.

I'm already mourning the day when my brother realizes his whole life has been wasted serving a publishing corporation for the hope of Paradise. That will be a brutal realization. It's brutal for everyone. And so it doesn't irk me at all to have Bethelites coming here when it finally actually affects them. Because as trite as it sounds, we're all in it together.

yup we're all in this together

but anger is motivating - its given me a kick when i needed it
