You may be interested to know ... RAY & Helen and myself started a EX JW support group in England years ago.( cant remember how many) In Dagenham Essex.

    Hi Grace,

I think you need more of those groups over there.

I SERIOUSLY considered setting up such a group for the Manchester area - but got sick

What I've found with most JW support groups over here is that they tend to be Christian-based, usually born agains. No offence, but my idea is to cut religion right out of it. To offer support without the exiting JW being concerned over yet more religious dogma, perceived or otherwise!

I strongly believe Aposta Fests help exiting JWs, because they introduce them to like-minded people; many of whom have been through the same kind of trauma.

I'll help anyone I can. I'm willing to help North Western JWs exit. When I'm fully recovered I might just do that!

    Hi Ian,

Trev and a couple of his ex - elder buddies are slowly, as time allows, building an ex jws website. I don't have a lot to do with it, they first had the idea before we got together, but I know they welcome any suggestions. We had a large box delivered a few weeks ago fro Randy Watters that they are sifting through now. It's from someone who has been in touch with Randy, but he hasn't time to use it, so Trev and his mates took it over.

The site is mainly aimed at ex jws in the East Midlands, and is just a help site for those exiting or thinking about exiting, no recommendations to join another faith, which, I agree with you, is one of the problems with ex jw organisations in the UK, that's why Trev and his mates started their site. Any ideas or contributions would be welcome.

    Hi Dansk, Your Holy Emperor

I'm from London, born in Battersea, born with good hearing and could hear the Bow bells!

Started my life of hell with the witnesses in the Coulsdon, Surrey congregation. Survived 10 years of hypocrisy before moving out to Hereford only to find yet more of the same stuff and endured this for another 20 years, before hearing about the UN involvement, 1914 etc.etc. I found you cannot be yourself (personality) without upsetting ALL the Elders, who wanted to put me into their mould. Constantly rebelled against the thinking of these ones and found myself many a time "on the red carpet" for remarks I made at Public meetings. Very much looking forward to meeting you and Claire and all the others over a steaming plate of Chicken Dhansack.

    Hi Mouthy

I was born in Battersea, (1938-1962) went to Battersea County school as a teenager. Were you one of the many who refused to dance with me doing the Bee-Bop, Twist or perhaps Victor Silvester at Streatham High St and the Locarno.

I'm English (British) born in sunny Manchester in 1945, raised as a Roman Catholic until I was contacted by the JWs whilst living in London, went to the Thornton Heath congregation and then for a short time onto the Coulsdon Cong. As with Kaytee ended up in Hereford. Eventually recognised the JW Organisation as Hypocritcal. Thought we had lots of friends over the 32 years in the Org. but soon found out that the friendship was superficial when we started to ask questions e.g. UN, 607 etc

    Hello Marion

Welcome to the forum, we look forward to hearing more from you

Now that you're out of the JWs don't give up on your belief in God, but make sure that your study is broadly based.

Dansk!!!! although I am born again.... PTL.... My group never pushes religion of any kind.I believe religion IS causing more trouble than anything >I have a relationship.... We have atheists, we have had a witch, mormons ( ex) 7thday ex... We go round the room & introduce ourselves. -tell about where our walk has taken us & we all love each other -if any one is in need ( bed to sleep after their loving MUM & DADS has chucked them out of their JW home -I have it.) If some one ASKS what we each believe we are not afraid to tell. But as I said -I tell them in the opening -that trying to lead people in MY faith or THEIR faith is not really appreciated. Yes when I heard you had lost faith in my GOD I sent you a tape. But surely you had a garbage can ????didnt you???? Love ya!!!
