JWs are preaching freely in India for the past 97 years. Still hardly anyone knows about them or the Big J. I used to wonder about this very often, when I was in.

judgement and resurrection
by inbetween09 inanother inconsistency in wt theology:.
jw believe, when armegeddon comes, only jw will survive.
good news was preached in most areas and people could decide for or against god.

Big events/developments which Bible failed to foresee!
by venus inthough bible made prophecies about “wars and rumors of war, famines and earthquakes, and persecution, hatred …” as signs of “last days” (mathew 24:6-11) which are neither specific nor extra-ordinary given the history of such events, it failed to foresee the positive development such as communication revolution (e.g.
tv, internet, mobile phone …) which is also favorable to preaching activity—the whole world can be preached to within a matter of hours.
[bible writers thought it would take at least 21 centuries for the whole world to be preached to.—mathew 24:14].

If Bible was really the word of God, at least the following should be contained in the Bible:
Germ theory - Reason behind how germs, bacteria and pathogens attack or benefit other living things.
Astronomy - Should have mentioned the simple science of this solar system, planets, stars and galaxies.
Physiology of human body- How the human body (At least humans) works and is made up of.
Rather, there is nothing beneficial for mankind about the following that are mentioned:
Earthquakes, Famines, Diseases are caused by sins, slaughter, blood shed, incest, talking snakes and donkeys, Solomons 600 wives and 300 concubines, Genealogy of Jesus(Contradiction here again) and other nomads, women inferior to men, a hypothetical ransom sacrifice…..

Some Things Just Dont Add Up, How Did We Miss This???
by pale.emperor insome things i just didnt notice at the time which now seem so obvious:.
the bible tells us that the end will come like a thief in the night, when we least expect it.
(matthew 24:44).

Adding my 2 cents
Lot was seduced by his daughters to produce offspring. Genesis 19: 30-38
Women, who cannot prove their virginity in their marriage bed, should be stoned to death. (Deuteronomy 22:13-21)
Lot offers his daughters to be raped by perverted men. (Genesis 19: 8 )
If a man rapes a woman he can give 50 shekels to the girl’s father and marry her. (Deuteronomy 22: 28)
Despite the above humiliation(And many more), women are the larger army in JWs and Christendom.

"Only Witnesses demonstrate Christian Love"
by Jules Saturn inso a couple of nights ago i was speaking with a relative and we began talking about the organization.
i had to asked her "why do you believe that this religion is the correct one?
" they stood quiet for a second but then said that they view and feel genuine christian love, a type of love that is spoken about in the bible.

For “still” Christians.
What is Christian Love anyway ? Jesus commanded his followers to hate their families and come after him. Luke 14:26 How do you formulate Christian love out of this ?

Making Every Thought Captive To Christ(Washing the Brain Of Good Reasoning)
by Brokeback Watchtower innot a very good idea to say the least.
when i read paul's words the more i see how delusional the guy was.
he was a genuine religious fanatic who contradicts jesus words on the sermon on the mount.. 2 corinthians 10:5 5we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of god, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to christ.. delusional and in need of some serious psychological help.

Dimwick
So I ask "If that is really how you feel about God and his word - why are you here at all ?" Is it really just to complain about your lot in life ? Is it to try and destroy the faith of others
Because I believe that God exists and I love him. I believe the promises that he recorded in the scriptures. Most of the members who write on this post have their loved ones still stuck to the cult. This is a great blog to get updated on what’s going on in that Cult, so that we could rescue our family members at some point. This is true in my case also.
BTW, You say you believe in Bible Promises. Can you cure the sick, as the Bible promises ? If you could do that, I can become a Christian again.

The WatchTower conductor lied on stage
by Isambard Crater inon sunday morning in the watchtower study, a "study" who was their for the 1st time put his hand up and said; "i have a question.
when the paragraph says give up everything, it doesn't really mean give up everything like the pearl merchant, does it, like be willing to lose my modest house, cheap car and other basics i own?
i mean, that sounds a bit much".. the watchtower conductor said in response; "no, it's just a parable and it doesn't mean give up everything.

Matthew 19:21
Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”
Luke 14:26
If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters — yes, even his own life — he cannot be My disciple.

The most absurd reason have you heard someone disfellowshipped for ?
by Chook insomeone said on forum they knew someone df for not going to assigned meeting in old days .

An elders baptized Daughter in India got married to a non JW. She and her father was dis fellowshipped due to this. Her father was accused of being present in the church premises during that NON-JW wedding.
This got me infuriated, even when I was an active JW. I wrote an email about this to the concerned elders in the congregation but with no response.

Beautiful new kingdom song
by slimboyfat inhas anyone noticed this new song?
i think it's absolutely beautiful.
it's got a film score quality about it, with depth and feeling.

Nice song but has an eerie tune, which I don't think would motivate the singers or the audience.
I had a chance to watch documentaries on North Korea which has songs performed by little children that are more motivating. After all, an oppressive regime could produce such nice tunes.

Do you feel comfortable being an apostate?
by Chook ini always found it uncomfortable to informal witness to people but trying to convince a jw to jump ship brings much more pleasure..

I am absolutely comfortable being and declaring that I am a Happy Apostate. In my case, no family repercussions and hence maybe. My user name for this Forum authenticates that.
