i’ve always noticed that the local jw leaders like to give as little notice as possible for local meetings and expect you to drop everything and rearrange your life to fit their agenda in.
i’ve noticed this more during the pandemic.
we are not given the codes and time of memorial until a couple hours before meeting.

You are dealing with the "exception to the rule" sort of thing! All the jw's I know knew about a week ahead of time all the memorial arrangements. But then I live in California and we're always ahead of the curve! lol

not sure if this was covered as i could not find anything on it but talking to my son he tells me one of the gb had a talk telling them this is a sign of the last days.

the reason why i ask is my son was saying his mother has being on his case the last few weeks and then two days ago i got a telephone message from my sister, that hasn't spoke to me in 4 years, asking how i am doing.

When liquor was legalized again after Prohibition (1920-1933) in the USA ended, did jw's have a problem drinking alcohol? (And we know that some jw's had no problem with drinking alcohol during Prohibition) The only thing that made drinking alcohol during Prohibition wrong to jw's was that it was illegal. The affects of alcohol and the results from drinking it didn't change after Prohibition was repealed. Only the law changed.
So, now the law has made using marijuana legal. I smoked a bit of weed in the 60's (bad boy) and I'll probably visit my local cannabis store soon! If the GB members needed medicinal marijuana (like Rutherford needed booze) you can bet your ass that they would say it's okay now that it's legal!

The whole fucking ransom thing is hard to square up with the facts. According to jw's, jehober required that a ransom price be paid--right!
Supposedly, Satan took/kidnapped something from jehober and mankind, namely, perfect human life!
So to get back what was taken, a ransom was required and needed to be paid!
Logically, the perpetrator, the bad guy, Satan, the one who took/kidnapped perfect human life should be the one asking for a ransom price to be paid. Satan should be the one setting the price of the ransom!
So then, why is it that jehober set the ransom price? When a person or a valuable item is takes/stolen, who asks for a ransom? The person from whom it was taken or the person who committed the crime?
Maybe it's just me that has the problem!

I will feel very silly sitting in front of my iPad with my pimi wife, zoomed in, during the memorial ritual this year. And of course, she insists that we have bread and wine sitting in front of us (wtf----- cult ritual). At least we won't have to go to the 'after memorial get-together' for cake and coffee!

What I see happening is the wt making it a "conscience matter" on whether or not to be vaccinated. In their very convoluted explanation of scientific shit, that they know nothing about, the wt will probably find a way to 'explain' that the vaccine serum is made from blood "fractions", therefore making it a conscience matter.
The Covid-19 pandemic is way too hot a political/social issue for the wt to stand up against. Maybe in the old days with Frantz and Rutherford but not today. The gb know that they have too much to lose. There is a huge leap between a few individuals refusing blood transfusions to the possibility of infecting entire communities with Covid-19. I don't think the Great 8 (aka GB) have the balls to stand up to the whole world!
