Do you believe Jesus was married?
by gaiagirl inthis is related to my question in "entertainment" regarding "the da vinci code".
in the book and the movie, it is claimed that jesus was actually married to mary magdelene, and that they had a child, descendants of whom survive even at the present time.
so, my question is: do you think any of this is true, could possibly be true, or is just plain wrong?

Most people are burned out on all organized religions
by free2beme ini know we always think and talk about how when we left the witnesses, we felt burned out on organized religion as a whole.
we felt it was caused by our time as witnesses, and the burn out we felt from knowing so much about other religions and our "suppose" knowledge on the bible.
here is the thing, since leaving the witnesses and talking to people who have never spent any time in the witness religion.

calvary chapel churchs which started in Ca. by Chuck Smith about 35 yrs ago is growing and spreading across the country because they are not into religion but into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They also go thru the scriptures chapter by chapter verse by verse. They also have churchs in Russia and other countries. They teach the truth .I never understood the Bible until I found them. One of the first things I heard from them was just because a person has a bible in their hand and goes to church every sunday does not make him a christian. They want you to question them not like some leaders of churchs. So if you truly want Bible knowledge I suggest you look for a calvary chapel church on line for one close to you.

How many here have left the org because of this board?
by mrsjones5 ini ask this question because saki said this in another topic:and i would assume that a lot of people on this board left due to this board alone "proving" the lies of the wts.
so, it this true or false?
or is this mostly true or mostly false?

I left in 1978. I was working for low wages to be able to go to meetings after all 1975 was going to happen and my struggles would be over. When it didnt happen I thought I better plan on a job with more money and a pension. Finally got a job with telephone co in 1978. I went to kingdom hall and this woman asked how come I been missing meetings. I said I got on at phone co as an operator and have to work nights and week ends. She said you cant miss meetings I said yes I can.If anyone wants to help me buy tires ,insurance medical bills my expenses I will reconsider. I left the hall and never went back and no one ever bothered me.So I guess I was a lucky one. My family who were witnesses were fed up too and they left .

Why does the trinity matter... or not?
by drew sagan inhere's what i'm putting out there.
every jw has a list of teachings that they know 'prove' they are the only true religion.
while they turn to many things in order to prove their points, i have noticed a special tendancy to turn to just a few things in the end.

Hos 13:4, Isa 43:11, 45:21 says only God is our Savior. Lk 2:11, Phil 3:20, Tit 2:3, 3:6,2Pet 1:1, 2:20, 3:18. all claim Jesus is our savior. Jesus in Isa 9:6 is called mighty God Jehovah is mighty God in Isa.10:20,21. Isa 44:24 says I jehovah alone created everything John 1:1, 2,3, Jesus created everything

Sort of morbid question
by unbeliever inthis came to my mind after i read 24k's would you go back thread.
just say when armageddon came jehovah gave you one last chance to repent of your apostate ways and live for eternity with jw's.
would you take jehovah up on this offer or ask him to strike you dead?

I agree with every word Apostate Kate said. I love Calvary chapel churches. Its all about a relationship with Jesus. Not religionous doctrines.

Do you think that the JW's really care if they bring people to the Org.
by JH ini think that as long as they think they are saved, they really don't care if people listen to them.

In Luke chapter 10:v 7 Jesus told them not go house to house. NWT Do not be transferring from house to house. The whole chapter is about preaching the word. I wonder why Jesus words not in red like other Bibles.
