An important message from a PRACTICING Jehovah's witness
by Sparks inhi, i am also a practicing jehovah's witness and very proud of it,to say the very-very least..!
i am a middle-aged man with many decades of being a witness of jehovah god in england.. this important letter is personally to you, just as many of the bible's 88 letters are to be taken personal by you the reader.
i am writing to you to urge you to take stock of your life, think what your future holds for you.

Should some people actually be Witnesses?
by Apognophos init seems to me like certain people actually benefit from joining the religion.
primarily i'm thinking of ones with drug problems who are only able to quit because they are working towards baptism.
another example would be those who are always getting in fights or who have a big ego, and who learn to be pacifistic and humble as a witness.

BOTR...I think your question "can these figures be trusted?" is the funniest thing I've read this morning!
All anyone has to do is consider the source and the question answers itself: NO, NO, A BILLION TIMES NO!
Remember: IT'S A CULT!

by BenRichards ini've been lurking here off and on for a few years, figured i would introduce myself and share the clif notes version of my story.. i'm in my late 30's and was born in.

Thanks for posting, Ben, and very happy to hear that your wife faded along with you.
Lots of good advice already posted on how to gently plant seeds of doubt with them but be careful with your mom and sister as they are still brainwashed. They really can't help it at this point and will respond negatively should you try to teach them what they believe is "apostate" doctrine. Feed them on little crumbs until they're ready for a full meal like CoC.
But hey...congrats on figuring out that life is to be lived! Hugs to you and Mrs Ben!

Chukky, haven't read thru all three pages yet but I think THIS is why you should never go back:
hi
been out for 6 years and so has my wife, but she cant move on as well. just went out for a drink and bumped in to wifes former JW friend. she looked wife up and down and looked away. Wife went ballistic shouting that she was a so called christian and shouting that if this was christianity, then she could stick it! hasd to pull her away. Now, i feel like i could kill these b*******s with my bare hands. Is there any way to bring this religion down? Is there any way to sue them, or organise a local publicity campaign against them etc etc. I need some way to pay them back for ruining our lives
thanks for listening
chukky
Why would you EVER want to return to THAT?
Perhaps you need to stop looking at what you don't think you have...and start looking at what you DO have. You can't measure your life course by how jdubs treat you! You need to find your own happiness, and it doesn't sound like that's happened. Just from reading your OP it sounds as if you're measuring your life by jdub standards. That doesn't even make sense.
What is really holding you and your wife back from actually LIVING your lives? That's the question.

Joe, when I "liked" a newspaper article from overseas on FB, a still-in dub messaged me that she was shocked to see me visiting "apostate" websites. It was a NEWSPAPER, people!
Same thing will happen if JWNers post the above story...the minute a dub sees that the article "speaks against" the bOrg, they instantly label it as "apostate" and by connection, the poster becomes an "apostate".
WAKE UP, you active Witnesses!
Sex Abuse is really happening and your fellow JWs are doing it. These crimes have continually been hidden by your elders for decades, and people are still being sexually abused in your congregations.

9yr old girl kills her gun instructor with an uzi
by EndofMysteries inhttp://www.cnn.com/2014/08/26/us/arizona-girl-fatal-shooting-accident/index.html?hpt=hp_t2.
"a 9-year-old girl learning to fire a submachine gun accidentally killed her instructor at a shooting range when the weapon recoiled over her shoulder, according to arizona authorities.
another reason to go against those arguing that young children should be taught how to use guns.

The "right to bear arms", which in reality spoke to the need for an armed militia should the new country be attacked within its own borders, has been misappropriated by gun lovers (not people lovers) and twisted for their own purposes.
There are battles going on to arm schoolteachers in the US. Yeah, let's talk about the need for homeschooling THEN, huh?
The US is gun-crazy, but they are also millionaire-crazy and sports-crazy and just about every other type of major crazy you can imagine. It's no wonder that the crazy jdub "religion" sprouted here, as it would have been legitimately taxed and/or shut down elsewhere.

"Go Where the Need is Great" - Is this phrase unique to JW's only???
by AudeSapere in"go where the need is great"... it's one of those jw buzz-words/phrases.
almost like a secret code that just pops up in what would otherwise be a 'normal' conversation.. .
i was conducting an interview with a candidate this afternoon and she used this phrase when explaining that she travelled to various locations of a previous employer.

I cannot imagine anyone who had not been well-exposed to the jw cult teachings actually using that phrase in public.
