I just remember the emotions I felt when my parents spanked me. Yes, my rear did hurt, but there was also another hurt that never healed until many years later. My parents would always tell me that it hurt them more than it did me, yea right. The last beating I got from my dad left me filled with much hate, so much that for nearly a week I refused to eat anything or speak to both of them. Parents who choose to spank their children, then tell them don't hit people, all that shows to the child is how much a hypocrite their parents are.

i like lloyd, and think that overall he does a good job covering issues in his videos.
but i've gotta disagree with him on this issue, to a point.. i don't agree with beating your children, but i do believe in spanking, when appropriate.

I'd love to see a video of when those two little children realize where their money is really going towards. What would be even more priceless would be if a video like that was hacked into their TV system at the kingdom halls, must be short and sweet to get the message out before they got a chance to shut it down.

Mark 7:6-9 about Tradition
by Secreetly inwhen i asked my jw relatives about why they are the chosen one, she said one of the reasons can be found in mark 7:6-9. jw’s stand firm in rejecting all man made traditions including christmas, halloweenc and birthdays whereas no other religion does so.

The Watchtower has been guilty of saying the end is near, right around the corner, and so on. They had even set certain times, such as the fall of 1975 that the end of this system of things will pass away. They have done it before, and when it did not happen they blamed the rank and file of making up this stuff. When Matthew and Mark both say no one knows the day or hour. I took these verses from their very own bible.
Matthew 25:13 “Keep on the watch, therefore, because you know neither the day nor the hour.
Mark 13:32 “Concerning that day or the hour nobody knows, neither the angels in heaven nor the Son, but the Father.
This scripture shows them for what they really are, a false prophet, and what they are deserving of, and I'm talking about the leadership of the Watchtower.
Deuteronomy 18:20-22
20 “‘If any prophet presumptuously speaks a word in my name that I did not command him to speak or speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die. 21 However, you may say in your heart: “How will we know that Jehovah has not spoken the word?” 22 When the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word is not fulfilled or does not come true, then Jehovah did not speak that word. The prophet spoke it presumptuously. You should not fear him.’ -

What your first realization of hypocrisy in this Religion?
by days of future passed inmy mother became a witness when i was five and i believed that every witness followed what was said at the meetings and the instructions given.
my naive belief carried on until maybe i was 10?
at the old conventions, volunteers would come early and pack fruit into net bags so that it could be sold at lunch.

They would go on about how lying was bad, and how liars would not inherit God's kingdom (surviving into the new system), and how the Devil was the father of the lie. Then turn around and say it was OK to lie in certain circumstances.

I never read that book, when it first came out I was not of that age group and did not have any children. It is quite disgusting to say the least. But yes as a child I was told that my nightmares were the result of demons attacking me in my sleep. The ironic part was the only time I ever had those nightmares was when my mom would start attending meetings again. There were a few times she was inactive for several years, then after a while she would start to feel guilt and then be all zealous again. It took me many years to get over it the though that the devil was attacking me.

The worst thing about the JWs is the amount of trust they put in their fellow witnesses and the GB. Before any would argue with this, think about the child abuse issues that is going on, and being exposed. When the higher ups say shun, the members don't bother asking why, they just do.
As far as the amount of trust, my husband personally of a case where a brother was waking and he got picked up by another brother. The brother who was driving the car was murdered by the one he picked up. When the authorities caught the murder, the reason was because he wanted the car. There are a few other cases, but I won't bother talking about those, all involving current JWs at the time of the crime.

My husband and I were both 23 when we got married, We've been married for 25 years (September 2018), two children, and are still married. We left the Watchtower together 18 years ago, although even being raised in it, my husband was never mentally in, just went through the motions because that was what his parents wanted.

A lot depends on the parent and child. As far as a parent, a first-time parent would do things differently than a parent who has been down that road before. As far as the child, can't really put an age, because it depends on the mental capacity of the child.
