If I remember correctly we had a female JW nurse at a hospital in the congregation I last attended over 27 years ago ,I would love to know if she still remained a JW .And this was in S.E.Qld. Australia.

They will prolong it for as long as they can hoping that the Holy Spirit will put words in their mouth to defend them.
I saw this in the video of the ARC into Institutionalised Child sexual Abuse when an Elder was put under the spotlight ,and you could just see with the pauses to his response that he was waiting for the Holy Spirit to put words in his mouth .
And they never came..
It was almost embarrassing to watch.

Evil Wind Chimes
by Sea Breeze ini remember going door to door in the late 60's with my mother as a 5 or 6 year old.
one time she caught me looking at the wind chimes on a porch.
she told me they had pagan origins, were evil, and were somehow connected to demons.

It was further explained that only the name of Jehovah is a strong [watch] tower and into it the righteous run for protection
It still amuses me to this day about the religion and the name Jehovah .
In the first edition of the book "Aid To Bible Understanding" they admitted that the word Jehovah was not the correct pronunciation of God`s name and that Yahweh was probably the more correct pronunciation ,however they settled on the name Jehovah because it was universally more recognised as the most popular name for God in the world.
Excuse me ? On the one hand they claim Christendom is hiding Gods name from the public and on the other hand they say it is the most popular name among Christians ?
I do not know if they changed this in any revised versions of the "Aid Book " I would love to know.

Unwritten, congregational 'rules'
by Thetruthhurts inwhat were some of yours?
the big one in our hall was no frontal hugs!
these were generally thought of as inappropriate, only side hugs should be given between sisters and brothers.

During the years I was "in" a couple of times i tried to wear a beard only to be told it wasn`t for christians nowadays ,and later,
on another occassion I was told by an Elder that i was being a narcissist because you have to take so much time looking at yourself in the mirror while you are trimming your beard .?
I now have had my beard for 27 years and I think I would be lucky to look in a mirror once in a month ? to trim it ?
Update : I now get a couple of chicks at the hairdressers to give me a one all over # 3 head and beard every couple of months .
Its heaven .

When they said that a religious sect in South Korea was responsible for an outbreak their my first thought was the JW`s as they would be just as arrogant enough to defy a ban on meeting together .
However it was not the JW` at fault here.but some other crazy sect.

I have never read any of his books however I agree that the B.I.T.E. model certainly fits the JW religion .

If you answer yes to that question ,may I ask which Bible are you referring to ? And why would God have a different number of Bible books for different parts of the world.?
Is he partial to different ethnic groups ?
Ethiopic Bible ,84 books
Eastern Orthodox ,76 books
R.C.Vulgate , 73 books
Greek Orthodox , 79 books
Protestants , 66 books
And no doubt their are probably more examples .
Or have these number of books got nothing to do with God or his choosing of books that are inspired and rests solely with the whim of man that best suited the theology of his time .?

Do JWs believe that animals were created to live in harmony? Lion and the lamb
by Doubledecker inthanks to all who replied to my first post, i appreciate you taking the time to do so.. i left jws for my own reasons as a teenager as i just simply didn’t believe it .
i am enjoying playing catch up with all the information out there now showing multiple examples of false prophecies , covering up the truth and the jw broadcasting stuff is amazing ( as said before i’ve just ignored the organisation for 30 years ) , it’s totally brainwashing evangelical propaganda.. however i digress .... as a young kid i used to ask , “if in paradise the “ lion will lay with lamb “ and all creatures will live in harmony, why for example does a snake have venom if not to eat another creature ?”.
like i say i was 10 years old i remember so please excuse the childish question.. but do they actually believe that was gods original plan for animals ?
