yesterday my congregation met for field service and the elder taking the lead did something not so smart: he brought up the child abuse situation and the recent news articles hitting local news across the country.
he said 'you can see that the persecution is really coming' and that we should be ready if someone complains about it at the door.
(funny how it's persecution when it's us and righteous judgment when it happens to the other churches.
neatbluedog - what that brother did was brilliant, warned them about the sex abuse scandals and with the typical JW pompous attitude blamed it on persecution, they started looking it up right there and nobody went out in field service that day, perfect!! Not the outcome bother pompous thought he was going to get that morning!

I was hoping that would've brought all the things that they hide to front, but nothing happened, same with Leah Remini's show, thinking that the next day or so would be headlines of how the JWs mistreat and lie to their people, but nothing. I think Scientology and the Mormons get more press than the JWs
Well, at least this past week there have been stories about there sexual abuse that are coming, I see the post ahead of mines posted something from California news stations,I'm on the east coast in the New York area and our local station did a story about two former JWs that are now suing, so I guess this week must be file a suit agains the JWs if you were molested, that's a good thing !! I hope many more of those that were afraid to speak come forward too!
