alcoholics/non-alcoholics and AA
by IronGland ini realise this question is off-topic for this forum but i believe this forum moved away from it's original intent long ago, and is now just a social place to talk to others with a similar background.
i've got a friend who has recently begun going to aa meetings.
she tells me that an 'alcoholics' body breaks down alcohol differently from a non-alcoholic and the difference in metabolism is what differentiates between an alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

Playstation 5!
by IronGland insouthfield, mibored with scaring elderly misers, the ghost of christmas future is spending the holiday season taunting modern children with visions of christmas 2016's hottest toy: the sony playstation 5, a 2,048-bit console featuring a 45-ghz trinary processor, cinereal graphics booster with 2-gig biotexturing, and an rsp connector for 360-degree online-immersion play.above: the ghost of christmas future offers a pair of phoenix 10-year-olds a tantalizing glimpse of the ps5.. "you know how kids area year is an eternity to them," the wraithlike specter said monday during a visit to the southfield home of 13-year-old josh kuehn.
"so just imagine showing them something they'll have to wait 14 years for.
teasing them with a glimpse of the ps5 is the ultimate torture.

Believers, why does God need your flattery?
by IronGland inwhy would an all knowing master of space and time feel the irrepressible need to be adored by mere insects (relatively speaking), and indeed punish them in the most absolute of terms if they fail in this task?
indeed it makes god seem very human, although rather immaturely so.
we expect such behavior from schoolyard bullies, megalomaniac dictators and small children who demand adoration from their beaten dogs.

Curious about organic food? Ask Prince Charles
by IronGland inlol.
i was at the watchtower website reading the article on organic food.
under the heading of how it might be dangerous they say that prince charles of england thinks we might be overstepping our bounds into god's territory.

Why be so nice to religion?
by IronGland init seems to me that in the u.s. most anything religious is always considered a good thing.
nearly all media go out of their way for religious organizations in ways they rarely would for anything else.
for all the religion bashing whining that the christians do in this country, i rarely see anything in public that bashes religion any more than anything or anyone else.

Definition of a Crackpot
by IronGland inone who believes that thousands of intelligent, informed, educated, credentialed scientists from a multitude of backgrounds and belief systems, working all over the world, holding tenure at hundreds of major universities, publishing their findings in peer-reviewed journals, and winning awards and research grants from both government and private industry are wrong, but that a single individual with access to a computer and an internet account has miraculously stumbled upon the truth.
.
so...remind you of anyone here?

Belief is Absurd
by IronGland ini am beginning to wonder if there is some kind of physical brain wiring that makes some people more likely to accept religion, even when believing in a certain supernatural paradigm presents numerous absurdities.
christians seem to be able to convince themselves of the following: .
) the god described in the bible is real, yet the god(s) of other religions are not (a variation: other religions are satanic deceptions).
