  When Nasa was building the space center on merritt island FL,they were boasting they will go to the moon, and there I thought, still giving wt chance after chance,: " no you will not , Your god is confined to the earth as per wt illustrations, and his subjects carrying their flags, idols will be too.

  well, the voyageurs are now past the heliopause, and flags are planted on the Moon, Mars, Venus.

  humour: can you picture Bezos, Musk, Branson with hoofs and tails? reaching for the heavens?

  the remains of what may be one of the largest pterosaur's yet found have been discovered in outback queensland.

  the naive wt reply was that it all happened because of creatures rebelling in Eden ~ 6000 years ago, well, it looks like the creation of mischief by demons, or punishment by the deity, (take your pick), reaches 100 000 times longer into the past.

  re: 7 meter flapping wing creatures taking of by jumping

  1) only the young flew ( see sci forum) or

  2) they were water creatures, manta rays of sort.

  in my opinion, in a body of elders let’s say with 7 elders , 2 or 3 were pretty much on the ball.

  they were reasonable, intelligent and moderate.

  the others were either extremely extreme about everything or very liberal.. did you have qualified older men or were they all lousy to you?

  MW do not forget that the 'get to the top game' in wt land is a free for all, a no holds barred sport. from the first appointment meeting in ~1973 on. (a nice diversion from the impending 1975 disaster btw)

  On the current migrant crisis

  thousands of migrants have come to england this year, already beating last year's total.. some may have fled syria and other war-torn countries; others are economic migrants.. let me try to get my head around this phenomenon: migrants are relatively safe in france and other countries.

  they then leave the relative safety of continental europe and risk their lives and that of their children by crossing the english channel in rubber dinghies.

  there's just no fixing stupid, is there .

  migrants arriving in England, Germany, Canada the Us are not refugees, if at all, they were at the first border they crossed. For such migrants there is a visa system. outside the system they are in violation of the rules, often lying about their identities, . jumping the queue.

  they will create a lawless component in the country they pick for the best benefits.

  well, not lawless, they will establish, import their own laws, and make them stick.

  this was first said in 1918 and adjusted to "will never die" in 1920. of course, the wts taught that the anointed had to die to go to heaven; but there was no great crowd teaching then, so they were talking about all non-anointed people on earth.

  the wts members were known as bible students then and had been expecting the end in 1914 and it was adjusted.

  one date that was stressed at that time was 1925. so i think they idea was that people living in 1918 would be alive to see the end in 1925, which of course did not happen.

  DJ, the naked truth of that wt prophecy is, no matter what wt writers meant in 1918 (with the possibilities pointed out by blondie in the OP), for the prophecy to become true, wt has to come up with 2 million faithful proclaimers, reporting >15 minutes "service time" per month who are > 103 years old.

  at next year's armageddon, 2 million 104 year olds; that means

  25% of witnesses have to be that age.

  did they not, some month ago stressed to concentrate " service" on old age homes?

  or was the reason that is there where the estate money is?

  i'd appreciate getting some opinions about a decision i will shortly have to make.. i am moving soon and have the choice of two different apartments in two different towns.

  i am hoping this move will be one of the last that i have to make - i have moved frequently in my life - at least for a long, long while.. the apartment i like the least is in a town and a location that i love due to my history with, and connection to the area.

  the apartment i love is in a town and location i am not as crazy about, but it is still a really nice area.
