They actually said that people's spiritual health & relationship with God depended on the gb? That makes me feel ill. Do you think they even know what the Scriptures say? When was the last time you think any of the gb even opened a Bible & read it?
Are they crazy, or egomaniacs? Or does their arrogance simply have no boundaries? I can't believe people aren't running from the kingdom halls screaming with disbelief
zac's first tooth just fell out, and so people are telling him that the tooth fairy will come with money.
zac asked me if the tooth fairy is real.

Glad you decided to let him enjoy the tooth fairy for now. Even as a jw, I indulged my kids in the Tooth Fairy story, and not one of them turned out any the worse for it. No apparent psychological damage was done, and they all still confide in me, so I guess they still trust me. Enjoy these times with him, they truly do grow too fast!!

That's wonderful! Keep researching the org & their doctrines together, and That should help you both should you start to doubt your decision. And keep the elders away from you both! All the best to you on a smooth fade.

Please re-think sending it to her work mates. If you feel you absolutely have to, please check with an attorney first to make sure there would be no legal recourse for her to take.
If you ever run into her again, why not go up to her and say hello, I miss you, we all love you. If she ignores you, you could loudly proclaim that you're sorry, you forgot the jw's won't talk to anyone who left their religion, even if it's their own father.
if we keep dishing out cash, to pay for all of our wonderful new light and spiritual food, have we, in return, actually only been fed garbage?.
example.. when they tell us not to bring up anything in older publications, because it is no long considered "the truth"(tm), was it ever the truth(tm)?.
have we been strung along for 130 years, on imitation food, masquerading, as real food?.
Like eating twinkies & ding dongs, right?
a recent conversation with a special pioneer... she went to pioneered in tanzania to serve where the need was greater.. spent years out there living in a decrepit mud hut with no electricity or running water.
despite the occasional great party with locals and the beach drummers she had the most ghastly time.
she said the brothers in the congregation were only interested in her because she was european and they thought that meant she had loads of money.
Hope you can help her to get back to the real world, Dis. Can you assist her in finding employment, and perhaps convince her to take classes somewhere to improve her skills & marketability? It's sick the way this org will use people up, then when they have no more to give, act like they did them a favor and they should be grateful. All the best to you.

sunday my father, a strong believing witness, former elder and still a ms, collapses at home after the new light watchtower study.. the cause was extreme stress.

i've been cleaning out the closet (literally), and reminiscing about old times and decisions i didn't make.
it's times like these i regret being brought up as a witness the most.
diana netherton, your ex boyfriend simply was not worthy of you. Once your heart heals, your will realize that. Just as the witnesses fooled you once, so did he. Better to find out now than in 10 years. Your life will be much richer in the long run. All the best to you, lovely lady.

LOVE the poem, Simon. Thank you for sharing it, I think it is something most of us ex-witnesses need to hear from time to time.. Prono, hope you are feeling less melancholy today. When it comes to thoughts about your old girlfriend, remember, things always seem greener on the other side. She may actually be a real biotch to live with, you just never know. Try to find your passion in the life you have now, so you have no future regrets.

apparently there was another family that we don't even know who had gotton a phone call from these jerk off elders down here questioning them about us and what they knew.
(anything negative).
If you really want to speak to the guy at bethel, I would consider writing down what you want to say in case you get angry and start to forget. Just the highlights to help you, and make sure to name names, dates, places. Tell him these ones have stumbled you with their unchristian, unscriptural behavior, and you can't see yourself going back because of them. Relay the story of the bully handshake. Try to stay calm & matter of fact. This might sound mean, but those with power who use it for evil & to hurt others, deserve to be outed.
When it is all over & done with, you can call each of these and tell them to go sit on their thumbs & rotate. Just say it directly to them so there is no trail.
