I belonged to a congregation that had 2 prisons in its territory. The inmate "publishers" were officially part of that congregation. 4 elders conducted the meetings at each facility, 2 at each.
I remember how one of those elders would constantly berate the members of that congregation and used the example of the inmate publishers to contrast on things like meeting attendance and time spent in the ministry.
Anytime one of these inmate publishers paroled they would attend our meetings. The parolees spent their time trying to get money, jobs, a place to stay from the brothers, and chase sisters in the congregation. If they didn't violate their parolee and get disfellowshipped they would just get disfellowshipped.
If Jesus were ever lost it would be easy to find him. Jesus is in every prison and jail. Just ask the inmates who are looking for him.
