When Splane was splainin about the generation he mentioned what his "favorite" scripture was. Did anyone ask what is 2nd favorite scripture was? Perhaps there is only one and his comments alluded to something that does not exist. -

The governing body only can wish they have this power. But, as we all know they can't wish anyone into the cornfield. -

by Witness 007 infirst let me tell you about george (his real name) the special pioneer.
not that good looking...a bit goofy, he had spiritual sisters literally ask him to date and flutter eyelids because of his positon.
he always made excuses about why sisters were "not his type"...had a bedroom full of pics of him hugging other brothers with a content strange look on his face....like this is my girlfriend look!

He was just counting time. After the coffee break at 10 am they probably did a few not-at-homes and then decided that visiting you was the easiest way to extend their service time. A total wasted morning.

Today's Special Day Assembly Expenses and the $10,499 Deficit. Silent Majority?
by Tenacious intoday i attended a one-day assembly in my hometown.
i knew when it came time to read the afternoon expenses that it would be an incredibly high and ridiculous amount that was nowhere near the real expenses for that day.
sure enough, after lunch came the announcement.

In the 35 years I was in the total amount they ever got from me was less than $200 - plus the sweat equity going door to door. Which, as we know is worthless. -

Manipulating meaningless numbers creates no value. What a waste of "time." -

not going to school
by Sabin ini don't know if it is the same where you are but where i live it is a common practise of jdub`s to withdraw their kid`s from school at about year 8 even younger in some cases.
they say they are being home schooled & of cause they do cover a certain amount of school topics.
don't get me wrong i`m not saying that it is wrong to home school a youngster, especially if they are being bullied or suffering in some way, but the jdub`s don't do it for this purpose, oh no their kid`s are out on the field service during what would be school hours.

Home schooling is quite common among JWs. Based upon my observation the few successes were far overshadowed by the embarrassing failures.
I sent my kids to school and never apologized for it.

NOW THAT I AM OUT.
by Guy Montag ini used to be jon preston.
now that i've escaped the watchtower i have much to report on.
in just a year i left the cult, started living, reset my kids' brains, had my spouse cheat, move to a new location, and started a new job.

Getting out simply gets you to the starting point for the rest of your life. There is no question that life is hard. There are no easy answers. One of the attractions that the Watchtower has to offer is that God will fix everything.
As you figured out, that is an illusion. While moving forward with ife is hard, with an extreme amount of hard work, it can be very rewarding.
Living a successful life is the best revenge. Good luck!

Solomon's Temple construction, things you realize when no longer asleep.
by Crazyguy inok so in 1kings chapters 5-6 is where we have the story of the construction of solomon's most holy temple to god, the supreme god.
it says that to build this magnificent temple they used 30,000 men, 10,000 per month.
another 70,000 common laborers in the hills digging up stone and 80,000 stone cutting laborers.

So basically Solomon consumed the resources of the nation so he could live like a king. He had no concept the burden he placed on the r&f of the nation. The more I think about Solomon the more I am convinced that his level of wisdom was the exact opposite of what was purported. -

When did they stop giving armrests? I am glad I got out of that religion before the new light about armrests came out. -

SNICKERING DOG CLASS--This class is currently limited to one person who makes irreverent, hilarious posts.
Perhaps we should set up a special folder for this class. I hope I have not missed these threads. Being a part of the look-y-loo class, these are the kinds of posts we crave.
