Its been kind of dead around here lately
by Pathofthorns inthe way i figure it, this is a rather small group, with really a handful of posters.
probably we've all talked ourselves out, reached our own conclusions by now.. personally, i'm so tired of everything at this point.
i'm tired of looking at a million things a million different ways.

Moment of Truth/ Cognitive Dissonance
by Zep inso how long have all you guyz here been apostates anyway, just curious?.i mean, it must be kind of cool to reflect and think...."well, heck, i'm a damned freaking apostate" or altleast a closet apostate, of which most of you are, i think?, right?.yeah, such a cool label is "apostate" huh!.but i'm interested, just how did all here personnally come to realise 'the truth' aint really that?, what set you on that track and made you look outside the bounds of wt literature into so-called apostate areas.. and what finally convinced you that its all just a heap of nonsense?
and forced you to shockingly conclude you had been living a lie?.what did it do to you at that moment, i mean, how did you deal with this blatant self admission that the wt was wrong?
did it crack you up or what...or did you just laugh it off or something?..

So THIS is where everyone went!
by Spock inokay i figured it was time to "widen out" cybernetically speaking.
i am inactive now but have 28 years of jw experience, including bethel, ivcw, pioneering, eldering in spanish congregations, and "need greater" (unofficial missionary) time in paraguay (the country's only german-speaking group) and in dominican republic.. now that i've established my rather impressive credentials, allow me to bestow the formal vulcan benediction to all (if i can do it right).. <img src=" http://www.egreetings.com/e-products/m_postreply/card_gif/epgi1400.gif">

Since I don't know a lot of you...
by Tishie inwould anyone mind doing one of those famous internet introduction sessions?.
since i completely and thoroughly filled out my profile, i think you all know enough about me :) and if you are bad, bad people, you might even know my history with the jws.
but, i'll give you the run-down, since i'm asking.. my real name is teresa (tishie being a nickname from my husband [tish, actually], which i adapted for the 'net about 5 or 6 years ago because i didn't like running into other teresas... eh, rf?)..

"Witness" health disorders
by Pathofthorns innot to demean any who may genuinely suffer from the following conditions, but it seems that every time the society puts out an article on certain "illnesses", coincidentally there is an increase in the latest fad medical condition among witnesses.. the illnesses i'm referring to are chronic fatigue syndrome (cfs), fibromialgia, burnout, depression, and the latest from awake, multiple chemical sensitivity (mcs).. while there are many who genuinely suffer from these illnesses, it almost seems that people (usually sisters late 30's and 40's) delight in discussing which of these sickness they have.
i figure, either a) if they genuinely have these conditions, a large contributing factor is the "truth" and all of the politics that go along with it as well as the routine.
also stress from things like poor financial planning, also due to past policies of the society.. or b) these illnesses are often conveniently self-diagnosed or difficult to prove and provide nice excuses for staying away from meetings/service, and to take frequent vacations.
