by fulltimestudent indr. andrew latham (a professor of political science at macalester college in saint paul, minnesota).
argues that the effects of this plague (in europe) changed europe and created the conditions that led to modernity.. it's an interesting thought, as we wander through the current pandemic.. this article was shared from the medievalists.net website.

2700 years ago Jews ate pigs
by fulltimestudent infrom haaretz newspaper:.
what does a pig skeleton discovered in jerusalem say about first temple era jews?.
the argument here is that sanctions on eating pork were only introduced in the 2nd temple era.. so what does that tell you bout biblical accuracy.. .

Does the Earth (as a planet) deserve to be colonised by humans?
by fulltimestudent indo humans have the right to live on this planet?
we have, in much less than a century, managed to fill the earth with so much plastic waste that tiny fragments of plastic have been found on the highest mountains and the deepest ocean depths.
not satisfied with doing that, we stupidly continue to do it.

Moses got it wrong- The Ark was round
by fulltimestudent innot a new subject, i think i have posted on this before, as well as others.
but, i came across a british museum video (on youtube) in which a bm curator tells of his discovery of a cuneiform tablet outlining the assyrian story of the flood and the (round) ark.. the bm curator was dr irving finkel, deputy keeper of middle east at the british museum, he explains that one day a member of the public brought in an old family heirloom.
it all started with a fairly normal event for a museum: a member of the public bringing in an old family heirloom - a cuneiform tablet from around 1750 bc which proved to be one in a million.. finkel proceeded to decipher this tablet.
