JW's - an international organization?
by Listener ini always thought the jws were an internation organization but it appears they don't consider themselves to be that.. this was in a letter found on google was written by wt loyd vice president of the wtbs australia, it was a submission to be treated as a charity.. http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:qahsgte4vysj:www.cdi.gov.au/submissions/357-watchtowerbibleandtractsocietyofaustralia.doc+watchtower+bible+and+tract+society+of+australia+financial+report&hl=en&gl=au&pid=bl&srcid=adgeeshqa1b_fsujltkvmgfjcx1_ba5vup35fhuri35cmc4ndprw6ny-rofdcp8lbyzwio5ou--0bwurdjivxt_5m8fnmy9vdr0qeue-e2pxt2k6jpvzcy2ja4d7njakxcaqlujyxjkf&sig=ahietbrtufqf8i7kxtys0qlvyejniqq5ww.
issues regarding definitions used in australia compared to other countries.
the society is not an international organization having branches in other countries.. however, jehovahs witnesses are worldwide, and a different not-for-profit organization.

The New Covenant Discussion
by Listener ini left the org many years ago as a teenager.
i started looking more closely at their doctrines a few months ago to work out if they really have the truth.
when i cam across the notion that jesus is not mediator for everyone i was startled and have been looking at the issue a lot more closely.

WItnessing work in Hong Kong
by Listener ini was in hong kong recently, which is a lovely country but very much a big city where people live differently because of it.
on one of our days we were walking to the ferry through a covered walkway and there were heaps of people handing out all sorts of leaflets to passerbys, you couldn't walk 10 steps without someone trying to give you their leaflet.
i was surprised when we came across about half a dozen witnesses trying to hand out magazines.

Babylon the Great
by Listener inthe org teaches that babylon the great is the world empire of false religion (although it once confined it the the catholic church) but i find it difficult that there will be a collapse of religion although people's attitude towards religion has changed greatly, particularly muslim.
babylon means confusion.. the recent global financial crisis has got me thinking that this is quite significant and a collapse of our financial stucture will certainly cause a great deal of hardship for both governments and individuals.
it would change every part of our every day life, particularly in the western world.

A simple question
by Listener inthere is a lot of information available about questions to ask jws.
it's a good thing to make them think a little more instead of being spoon fed all the time.. one question that could be posed is - where did the the 'new light' come from?
(answer) so where did the 'old light' come from?.

Is field service a biblical requirement?
by Listener inthere are two classes of jws - the annointed/chosen ones/those with the heavenly hope and the great crowd/other sheep/those with earthly hope.
this makes it quite difficult to determine as to whether jesus was giving directions to either the annointed or both classes.
but the org does distinguish at times as to the authorities given to them (the annointed) and therefore the directions they may impose on the other sheep.. there is an interesting article about witnessing and who's responsibility it is.. from the watchtower 2004 3/1 para 20. the great crowd of other sheep have imitated their anointed brothers.

Taking brothers to court
by Listener inthe new elders book viewpoint on this is very interesting and rather sad.
apparantely the scripture which states not to take your fellow bro's to court (1 cor 6:1-8) is not to be taken too literally.
no, in fact there are circumstances that the org has 'spiritually' determined where you can take your bro to court, even on very personal matters.

Preperation for Armageddon
by Listener ini dislike the way that the publications promote such excitement for armageddon.
i have only ever met one jw that actually suggested that anyone dying beforehand may be fortunate as they will not have to face the horrors of armageddon.
anyway, it would make a lot of sense if the gb somehow focused on preservation during this time as many will die due to the nature of what will occur.

Jesus as Mediator
by Listener ini was stunned when i read that according to jws jesus is not the mediator to all those baptized and this is not available to all mankind although the benefit of his position as mediator is.
they believe that only the annointed with the heavenly hope have jesus as their mediator.. i cannot understand why they tell all jws that they must pray through jesus christ.
if he is not the 'great crowds' mediator then wouldn't it be wrong the pray through jesus?

Resurrection Question
by Listener ini've been doing a little research and can't quite understand the jw doctrine on resurrection.. firstly there are the annointed, in the new convenant and hence those only faithfull after jesus time on earth.
so it is all those from jesus' time to the time the jws decided there was a great crowd, around about 1935 and a handful since then.
then there is the others that died before jesus time and the great crowd that die before the end of armageddon starting around about 1935 onwards... is this correct?
