2014 Event
by enigma1863 ini know its a year away but i wanted to inquire about the hundred year anniversary of 1914. it would be amazing to have a world wide event reguarding all exjws.
i am nowhere near capable of putting this together but i'd like to propose the largest assembly of exjws ever on october 1st 2014. can it be done?
am i the first to bring this up?

The final chapter in the confusedandalone story...
by confusedandalone inthis morning i get a frantic call from my sister (who has been baptized 1 year and one month and never attends meetings anymore).
in tears she tells me that this morning my father picked her up in the car and told her that i was am apostate.
that i no longer loved jehovah and that i was going to be disfellowshipped.

If they are coming out with another bible, I do wonder...How many more times will they insert Jehovah into the text?

AudeSapere,
Good point. Could it be that they know they have to be ready to justify this convoluted mess and have much of the content all ready to copy and paste into a letter (perhaps they have some kind of FAQ doc that they copy and paste this material from as needed to address specific questions. It can then be edited to make it more personal. And voilĂ ! A personal letter response that is highly detailed but that takes only a few minutes to throw together and print out.

Excuse needed to get out of talk
by noonehome ini work with the school overseer so he'll be with me all day before the meeting...so being 'sick' isn't an option.
this really isn't like me to weasel my way out of something....but i've been ridiculously depressed lately and honestly i just don't have it in me to do anything let alone put a talk together.
everytime i do one it takes allot out of me and let's just say the well is pretty dry.

I'm not going back...finally
by lostinthought init has been several years since my awakening.
since then i have stopped pioneering, stopped doing temp work at bethel, stopped field service (at the most, i went out a few hours a month for the last couple of months), my meeting attendance has been around 50 percent or so.
i have decided not to go back.

may I add something to what OTWO said? Yes! Let it go to voice mail. But as soon as you start to play the message back DELETE it immediatley without actually listening to it. Just delete.

Another story... possibly final story
by confusedandalone inthis is the exchange of text messages i had with my super spiritual brother.
it is sad... it is pathetic... it has helped me realize that i have no connection to these people anymore.
i feel free today.

...And who the heck cares if your brother says he can't. Of course he can. He can get an extra part-time job and get that $10,000 paid off eventually. He could always wash some windows or mow some lawns in the evenings or on the weekends.
Why should it fall onto your shoulders to make HIS life easier?

How much do you want to bet that your dad will STILL want the money after you are DFd. Sure, his conscience may bother him, but the bills...He'll want the money still. And will want to shun you at the same time.
I certainly wouldn't give them the money. Let the others in the family who are not being shunned deal with it. You'll just be lightening the load of those who are treating you like crap. Your brother may have "obligations" but what choice will he have? He knows it's in his best interest for you to fork over the money ASAP.
You don't owe them a thing, so don't give them anything. Let your brother have to earn some money to help them.
