  Tattoos or not tattoos...

  alright, ive posted on here a couple of times, but let me tell you a little bit more about myself.

  i have been doubting for some time, and fading for some time.

  i've not been to a meeting for some months.

  Actually one of the elders from my local cong had a few tatts- they look old and faded (from his pre JW years I imagine???), he must have been human before joining!

  If it was/is a tattoo you had done before 'knowing or learning' the truth- then no DF! but it was made pretty clear to me during my time as a study that getting a tattoo was 'off limits' for JW's!

  Personally I would have to say Fuk them! it's your body mate, do what you like too it... I'm getting my kids names tattooed on my ankle for my birthday this year- I'am getting it done to look like a chain with little elephants inbetween their names, kinda like permanent jewlery- (i orignally wanted 2 dolphins around my belly button but they would have looked like humpback whales after 3 kids LOL).

  Words JW's use NOT found in the Bible

  so the word "trinity" is not used in the bible...one of the many jw reasons to not believe in the trinity.

  what are some words that jehovah's witnesses use that are also not in the bible?.

  I just had the most stupid but interesting thoughts- the word "bible" is not in the scriptures either! There is no reference to there being a "cannon" or "set" of scriptures that were to be "clumped together" in one "book/scroll" and to used in the fashion that is today- didnt Timothy say that ALL scripture is benifical?... The list of 'scrptures' that are cannonised today and in the bible, was debated about and voted on by the original members of the cult know today as Christianity.

  Jesus was a reasonably well educated Rabi and it is obvious that he had acess to the records kept at that time in Jerusalem- records of the royal blood lines of past kings would no doubt have been there also- next in line to throne was Jesus, he was to be the next great King like his fathers before him (David, Solomon etc...)- he preached love for god and love for thy neigbour, he frowned on people getting rich off the faith of others, he stood up for the rights of the poor and the weak- now is it any wonder why the romans had him silenced and then later destroyed the temple? but thats a whole different thread..... my point is- if Jesus were alive today, I would imagine that he would want to kick the asses of the 9 GB members and burn Bethel to the ground!!!! after he'd finished with Rome of course!

  I was just thinking that same question before getting online tonight, and I have to both yes and no. Yes in that I have gone back to the way I was before- a seeker with a dream, but no in the sense that I have not put my thoughts to action yet- right now I and my dreams are both a work in progress! but at least it's of my own accord and in my own way, in my own time- I never got the hang of walking to the beat of the WTBTS drum, to off tune for me spiritually.

  I wish you all the best on your journey through this life, but wish you would stay on here dispite going back, you will be missed even by those you may see a nemesises! We are like the big brothers and sisters trying to teach you to keep out of trouble, and the younger ones who pick fun at you because we love you and are just testing our boundries with you! You will be missed and are welcome back at any time for any reason.

  "Christian," Music?

  just wondering...they ssay too stay away from babylon the great and everything about her.

  what about music from bands that claim they're "christian?

  " some i can kinda see if they have god in the lyrics, but others just claim it and the songs don't have it in the lyrics.. everyone interprets music differently, don't they?

  I dont know or care what religion Toni Childs is- Iam going to see her preform live a few weeks time- I cant wait- She has an amazing voice.

  I was a singer before study with the JW's and Toni Childs album 'House of Hope' was the only CD I could not bare to part with!!! so glad i didn't now as replacing my old music collection has been costly- but sooo worth it!

  Would you die for someone else?

  so many times we hear " i'd die for you " or " i'd die for **insert name/parent/lover** but would you really?.

  the death may be a painful one and ask yourself if somebody else really deserves your life.. when someone said that to me i told them they probably wouldn't, this person got a little offended and when asked if i would die for them i said "no".....that didn't go down too well.. .

  Cant really say- haven't done it yet! but I can say with confidence that I wouldn't want to be the person who ever trys to harm my children, my reasoning ability goes out the window and my basic human instincts to protect my family kick in. I think thats another reason I probably would not have made a good JW- thou shall not fuk wid my family and get away with it

  But all that aside- Iam a lover, not a fighter- well, most of the time!

  81 years old and still going fairly strong.

  my older sister was the first one to leave the dubs in our 3rd gen jw family.

  a lay in, slowly pottering around, doing whatever i like, a full english breakfast at 11ish, meeting freinds in town for coffee in the arvo... dodging all the jw's waving their mags as i walk through.... now that we are free, what do you do with your sunday mornings?.

  Sundays are now 'pancake day' in my household, which for me means a 6am start to get up and get cooking while my boys watch cartoons and my husband starts organising his latest project on our old farmhouse- NO REST FOR THE WICKED! LOL

  What response would you give to this JW illustration ?

  my jw in laws send us these types of emails every once in a while .

  never is there any real personal correspondence from them and it irritates me.

  i have sent emails back before critiquing the logic of some of their emails.. i will be sending a response to this latest one ,and i would appreciate some ideas .. i know many of you on this forum are so excellant with your words i would enjoy your input .. the first thing that came to my mind after i read the illustration was "i am so glad i am no longer on the endless tread mill of witness logic that has you running forever from scary imaginary spirit beings ".

  How Can an Outed One Find a Study Buddy to Get Reinstated as a JW?

  Spike if you are that desperate to be reinstated and begin 'studying' again- then go to your KH and plede with the elders, start attending all the meetings and ask everyone if they would be willing to study with you again. This may or may not work, but hey, if it's that important to you it's worth a try.

  Even though we disagree on many beliefs- I think you will find that dispite some disagreement between members on this board- there is more real Love and Compassion here in JWN that there ever will be in the WTBTS. We may not like everything some people say here- but you Never be rejected or denied your Right to disagree with them. Your membership here is free and you are free to come and go as you please/ believe as you wish and there are endless topics to study with many people on here (but the point of studying is that you learn along the way).
