  i would like to say thank you for your work on the royal commission, particularly in your handling of the jehovah's witnesses elders and experts during questioning.

  This past Tue I received an email from the Royal Commission's CEO Philip Reed telling me that Angus Stewart had asked Philip Reed to respond to me on Angus' behalf.

  They wanted to inform me that my email was forwarded to the ARC's Case Study 29 public hearing team. The email also spoke of Geoffrey Jackson appearing to testify Fri Aug 14/15 and supplied a link to the live broadcast. They also thanked me for my interest in their work.

  I am quite impressed as I didn't expect to hear back from Angus let alone Mr. Reed. I replied back last night.

  Witness behavior in my gym ....

  about two months ago two very attractive ladies in their mid 30's signed on at one of the gyms i belong to.

  for a while i noticed them watching me and naturally i assumed they were taking an interest in how i went about training my clients since many do before they decide to approach me and inquire about my services (i own a health and fitness consultancy).. sure enough one of them approached me a few weeks back and asked me for a business card, inquired about rates and various other aspects involved with signing on with me.

  i handed her a card and explained that my client schedule was full but she should consider signing on with one of my personal trainers who still had some open spots available.

  This woman is a liar and quite possibly a fornicator/adulterer. I totally call bull crap on her "Oh I was just trying to make conversation." statement.

  SSC you handle it well. And I have to agree with Vidiot... excellent parting comment. You probably won't see her again because I suspect she has now labelled you apostate or DF or something she has to shun.

  Advice on Waiting for Jehovah

  hi guys, .

  in discussions with a current jw, they told me that have big concerns with regards to the 607 bce date, but they are waiting on jehovah for refining.

  any suggestions on questions to pose to them based on their feedback?.

  Botchtower's formula is 100% crap. This formula gets you nothing but bad results.

  Pray More + Wait on Jehovah = Nothing Gets Done and People get Ill/Hurt/Dead.

  edited to add: It is the exact opposite of Stephen Covey's First Habit of Highly Effective People.

  That habit is: Be Proactive.

  Stephen Covey knows more than the Almighty Jehovah(hahahaha).

  Its really weird

  i tried testing my family by mentioning that a member of the gb was summoned to appear in front of the royal commission and i found it really weird how they reacted.they dismissed it saying its just satan attacking the 'truth' and i could not believe how ignorant they are.they all think that the organization did nothing wrong or even that jw's abuse their children.

  SpunkedTeen, sounds like you have some very valuable critical thinking skills that your family lack.
  

  Sometimes people want something to be true so badly that they turn a blind eye to facts and evidence. This is called delusion.

  If Geoffrey Jackson does appear before the Royal Commission, it will be very interesting to see how that proceeds.

  i hope the royal commission will be able to force the jw organization to take a serious look at itself ,and will cause some much needed changes.. i have been following the trial faithfully ,and unfortunately it has dredged up some deep pains from years ago .

  you think some of that old baggage is neatly packed away never meant to see the light of day again .....but then boom there it is again .. hearing what bcg had to go through, and how she felt trying to get help from the elders was heart-wrenching.

  i remember the terrible way young women were treated in the 1970's .

  (((( troubled mind )))) The misogyny in the Bible and in religions makes them unpalatable to me and I suspect a lot of women. Religion has a veneer of moral righteousness that when pulled back exposes self-righteousness and abuse. Patriarchy doesn't work and is harmful. I am hoping the Borg gets its a$$ handed to them.

  i have been da for 2 years, divorced, ex and my son live 6 hours away near walkill ny.. my sons first talk is coming up, in august.

  he is 7 years old.

  the neighbor child came over to play with my youngest child.

  i think she's about 4 maybe 5. well anyway there was some strawberries out on the counter and she asked if she could have one and i said no.

  when i looked over later i saw her sneak one.

  something i have noticed over the years is how much harder it is to research the history of the watchtower society from its own literature.

  people have thrown away old publications in place of the watchtower library.

  i beleive soon the watchtower library disk will be discontinued in place of the online library.

  I have a lot of books from my parent's library that I'd like to sell. The hardbound Awake! and Watchtower volumes start at 1960 and go forward, I think, to around 2009 (?). I believe year 2002 is missing... my Dad either lent it out and it didn't come back or he didn't order it because that's the year my Mom died.
