The theme of the DC being to stay close to the org. Stay close and do what they say, no matter how irrational it sounds. There are so many elders and jws in right now that do not agree with a lot of the doctrines yet they will stay b/c if you are at least a 2nd generation jws they have your family. Many of us that grew up in the org are 3+ generation. Also, even those that leave will sometimes shun you if you leave for apostacy.

it was his whole reason for living since i've known him!
others have said the new doctrine of "blended generations" of anionted seeing armagedon is "confusing" or "i just don't get it"...one brother my only close friend is furious and said i qoute..."they seem to be blowing smoke up our ass!

I recall this very well. Indeed it has been kept quiet. I just checked and so far do not see it on 6 screens. I would very much like to read it b/c I knew members of the original cong and was among those who helped build the new KH.

I agree- he can download the mags from the wts site ( if he is alllowed internet use). . The Cong. where he wants to go can just hook him up via telephone. That seems the best thing to do. That way he can listen to the meetings if he wishes and not be a threat to anyone.

Mad has it right. You can't fix your wife, you can only work on your own issues. Find someone to talk to or you will be saying the same things to everyone 20 yrs from now. If you stay in the org you must submit and do it their way. There is no room from critical thinking. They are not going to let you just coast and not come to the meetings.

Pendulums. Are they dangerous?

The average Jw puts a lot of weight to what their local elders or Co/DO says. They usually feel he speaks for the Org. ( mother) They have always followed men. In the long gone past they used to allow more discussion of things without one being accused of being an apostate. That all changed in the 70's.

September 15th Watchtower is making me feel literally ill

i know...i shouldn't be reading it.

When they changed the baptismal vows in 85 I saw the same thing. It was huge. I dedicated my life to God and His son ,not an organazation. I was stunned when I saw what they did. The gloves have been off for some time due to the 70-80's apostate happenings. They will lie ( use spiritual warfare) to anyone they desire to. All to protect "mother" ,you know.
