Personal Hardships and Personal Responsibility
by Eyebrow2 inhey there.....i was thinking about this after reading through a few earlier threads discussing about the hurricane (this is not a thread about that by the way) which lead to people bring up personal hardships.
etc.. i too have had my share, but there is always some one that has had a rougher time than i have.
as a jw, i found that many of the hardships that occured to me as an adult was sometimes the result of poor decisions that i had made...but didn't realize that until after having a breakdown, and getting out of the kh (please note: i don't blame the breakdown on being a jw...just so you know).

Is this true in the UK and Europe?
by Eyebrow2 in.
i heard that in the uk and europe there are more cars that run on diesel.
right now, i think the only new car (not counting trucks, you can usually get a bigger pickup in diesel if you want here) that is usually offered as a diesel is the vw...like the tdi and jetta, here in the us.. the reason i ask, is i am wondering how many of you that have diesel are or would consider using biodiesel, or using waste veggie oil, etc...so that you can cut your fuel expenses?

My cousin from New Orleans is okay...waiting to hear on daughter's friends
by Eyebrow2 ini have a cousin...a second cousin actually, that has lived in new orleans for about 10 years.
she spends about a month a year with her parents up in new england...and thank goodness thats where she was when the hurricane hit.. she and i were never close...she is about 15 years or so older than i. but she is such a colorful lady...plays sax in an all girl jazz band in new orleans...at least she used to.. i just feel so lucky...i cannot even tell you.
i cried when i found out...i need to call my dad's cousins (her parents) tomorrow.

Everyone here from Louisanna, Missippi, etc okay??
by Eyebrow2 in.
i know most of those you in the the path of katrina probably cannot even see this right now...but i hope you are all okay.. my stepkids used to live in port sulphur, la...thank god they don't any more, but their grandmother still does.
i just got off the phone with their mom, and her mother and brother are okay...they are up somewhere safe in missippi, but their house is completely gone...i hear that whole parish is in really bad shape, as bad or even worse than new orleans.. i see bryan is safe...and if any of you know of others that are in that area, if you know they are safe, please let us know.. maybe this latest hurricane will convince la and other areas to rethink developement in such flood zones...so next time the devastation in loss of life and property isn't so extreme.. i hope you and your families are all okay..
