When Will Jehovah`s Witnesses Appoint A Woman As A Governing Body Member.? It`s Long Overdue !
by smiddy3 injehovah himself gives the saying "the women telling the good news are a large army" psalms 68 : 11 coupled with the fact that a good portion of women partake of the emblems and wine at the annual memorial celebration.. identifying themselves as part of the 144000 that are taken from the earth to rule with christ jesus in the heavens.. isn`t it about time they were recognized for their contributions and given the fact that gods word the bible clearly states that 144,000 of anointed are to be taken from the earth which many women are a large part of.?.
revelation ch.14 :4 could be argued that they are not lesbians { "these are the ones who do not defile themselves with women ,in fact they are virgins, etc,etc.}.
i wonder just how many men who claim to be of the anointed have not defiled themselves with women and are virgins.?.

Conversation
by jdash inso this morning i had a conversation with my grandmother about going out in service.
remind you i'm only 17. i tried to ask her why i had to go out in service if this isn't what i believe in and whatnot.
she went on saying basically these are the rules for this house.

I agree with Dubstepped about faking it as much as possible and sharing just a positive thought with people.
You can win a battle with Grandma, but lose the war of being able to ride it out until you are independent if you want to argue over recruitment. -

This is my story
by paradiseseeker ini've already posted in this forum but i haven't told you my story.
nowadays i'm a pimo in my late 20s from spain.. i was born in the cult and i can say that during my whole childhood and most of my teenage years i believed in this.
however, i felt that here was something wrong with me, as i wasn't comfortable telling people i was jw, talking about jw stuff, nor did i feel "excited" and "grateful" whenever a watchtower publication told me that i should.

Bravo for choosing to wake up and not waste your time in the cult. I wish you the best success.
It is possible that you just walk away from active JW to inactive JW. Perhaps (but not guaranteed) you will retain some contact with your JW family then. But no matter what, you are doing yourself a huge favor to follow your own path as you have laid it out. -

Bucket list
by Jrjw indoes anyone have a bucket list and has it helped you achieve anything?
someone said i should do one.
-
OnTheWayOut
I have a bucket list and have done most of it.
Stuff like standing under a waterfall in Hawaii, snorkeling in the Caribbean, riding a bicycle in Beijing and climbing up to the Great Wall.
Mine started when I was in the Navy and wound up briefly riding a camel in front of the Egyptian pyramids. I thought I would keep going throughout my life and seeing stuff and doing things.
I still have left to explore Machu Picchu and white water rafting on the Colorado River (or some other canyon) and riding an open air vehicle on an African plain. I have ruled out ever going to Antarctica, but replaced it with Australia. But I should have plenty of time to get to those. -

How Many People Here Still Believe In “God”?
by minimus inbecause of this site i realized that there were many people who were active jehovah’s witnesses really didn’t believe in god at all.
i’m curious how many people believe in god?
i’m not interested in debating why you shouldn’t have a belief in a god or should.

How Many People Here Still Believe In “God”?
You are not interested in debating, but such a question needs definitions for the following:
"still"
"believe"
"God"

Psychology is a science, but JP, this clinical psychologist presents himself like a "scientist" who has spent time examining some kind of balance between science and belief. Yet he only seems to come up with reasons why the mind might believe, not why belief in Christianity is right. In reality, he is an apologist for allowing false beliefs to continue in your life without really examining the beliefs to see if they should be dismissed.
JP- "the stories in Genesis which are very old stories...maybe tens of thousands of years old."
Wouldn't a scientist trying to reconcile science with religion be less vague? He would be able to state a better detail than "maybe tens of thousands of years old."
It seems he thinks he needs to stay in favor with hardcore Christians. I could almost count him as an agnostic who sees value in belief and counts the value as the amount of belief that lives on and changes lives. Without batting an eye, if he lived in a Muslim world, he could say everything the same way about Islam.
I do enjoy his philosophy on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0O8Jw6grro -

Cart Witnessing Is Getting People Baptzed!!!🐑🐑
by minimus inrecently i talked to an elder about this type of witnessing.
i’ve known him for many years and he is a very honest upright man.
he marveled at how many people have become baptized in the last couple of years because of cart witnessing.

James Mixon-
I call FOUL!!!!! No way cart witnessing is getting people baptized, if the door to door work didn't do it surely the cart work is no better...Yeah, I will declare that your elder that believes otherwise is a victim of some kind of propaganda. Cart witnessing has gone on long enough that Watchtower has to have some kind of positive results from it, even if they are just cooked numbers from the tiniest bit of actual results.

Godless, I highly recommend you start from scratch and learn about the origins of the Bible itself.
Then learn how this book from men has been used and misused again and again to promote many different paths of leaders/followers. The Bible is vague enough and as long as those who use portions of it for their agenda are not bogged down by contradictions elsewhere in it, it can be made to say anything.
Take some time to learn about Christianity being no different in origins than any of the heavily myth-laden ancient beliefs such as the cult of Mithras, Manichaeaism, followers of Isis and Horus, maybe some more. You may learn that Christianity was developed pretty much the same way and won the day when Constantine used it to solidify the empire and took the beliefs of the other beliefs along with it.

The "Imperfect Men" Argument
by steve2 inone of the most common "defences" of jw organization is that "the brothers" are imperfect yet still strive to follow god's word.
"sure, they make mistakes," so the argument goes, "but so did god's people in the past, including in bible times.
" the key point is their readiness to keep studying god's word and learning from their mistakes.".

They will tell you that the difference between "inspired" and "spirit-directed" is that the exact words of the inspired were God's because they were in direct contact with God, and that the spirit-directed ones are doing their best to understand God's guidance but are not in direct contact.
But really, why would God do it one way for Jews then Christians in the day, but totally different now? There is no real difference between the two terms except that the GB wants allowance for changing the doctrines.
