No, I don't have a clue, but a lot of my favorites are leaving, and I don't know exactly why!

An elder just called me...just need some quick advice on how to handle it.
by stillAwitness inhey guys,
quick question: one of the elders just called me about a talk i am supposed to give tomorrow night.
well its obvious he is not aware that i don't live at home anymore (he made the comment that he hasn't seen me in awhile but figures its cause of the recent district convention stuff) and for me to let him know either way wether or not i would be giving the talk.

So, he must be a sly one to get your new number! You've moved out, and he still called you, even tho the listing must be under your boyfriend's name, since you're staying at his place.

Men's hair getting longer?
by JH inwhen i was a youngster, many guys had long hair, then a few years later it got short, very short.
now i've noticed that hair for guys is longer again.. this spring, i saw boys go to school, walking in front of here, and many had very long hair.. .
just a few minutes ago, i watch the news on tv, and the man in his late 30's had very long hair....lol.

"No longer than the ear..." of course, it says that in the Bible, don'tcha know!
Around here, the trend is longer, shaggier hair.

Nauseating Trip down memory lane.....
by caligirl ini was reading through a journal i kept for my oldest son when he was a baby, and came accross a couple of entries that just make me cringe.
i was writing about my grandparents, the last of which passed away (not witnesses) when he was still less than a year old.
the journal is written like a letter to him for when he is older.

I came across some photos of my Grandfather. It reminded me of all the years we left him sit alone on holidays. He was a widower since Grandma died from not having a blood transfusion. I just feel so awful, I have to put the pictures back in the box. Too late to make it up to him. Memory

Did u convert to JW because u were ignorant, arrogant or some other reason?
by jwfacts into believe the watchtower story takes a high degree of arrogance.
to think you were so special that god drew you to his organization for salvation.
but 6 billion other humans deserve destruction, is placing huge value on your own importance.. if you converted to being a jw do you think you were sucked in because you did not know the full story (ignorance) or was it because you really wanted to believe you were more special than everyone else (arrogance)?

Well, I was a born-in and never believed in it. My Mom is sweet, anive and was lonely and looking for friends when she was hooked. My Dad, well, his attitude is, the truth's available to everyone, If people don't want it, then it's their own fault. He's obeying Jehoopla, and will be rewarded. He doesn't see himself as special, just making the correct choice.

I like to read other people's profiles too, but I'm afraid to reveal much in mine! Some of us are afraid that, somehow, those Dubby relatives that aren't supposed to visit sites like this, will....and recognize us. I'd be more comfortable telling more about my past in a PM, if anyone wanted to know.

Your Funniest House-to-House Presentations
by Good Girl or Bad Girl? inso when my brother was a wee little lad, my mother was helping him prepare his first presentation.
it involved a paradise tract, i'm sure.. anyway, so my brother, probably about 5 or 6 years old, stands at his first door and makes his little presentation.
except he kind of forgot what he was going to say and kind of made it up on the spot, because what he ended up saying was, "if you'd like to live forever you can have this tract.

My Dad went up a long winding drive towards a house when a German Shepherd came out and chased him back towards the car, tearing his trouser leg. The householder came out and my Dad had the nerve to tell him, he should pay for the pants, at which the householder chased him the rest of the way to the car, shaking a walking stick. As he backed the car up, the dog was still yapping and Dad was glaring the man down, as if he hadn't just trespassed on his property uninvited!

Just saw Blondie's post, that he wasn't married? Wonder who "Emmy" is, that I am thinking of... I also remember Calvin and Arlene Hargus from around the same period, and the Schraders, wife's name was "Carmie." Some suck-ups named their baby girl after her. Wonder what ever became of them, on Paradise Pension Plan?
