what have you learned since you left the org?
by fullofdoubtnow ini have learned so much about the org since i da'd - the truth about the un scandal, the false reasoning regarding the 1914 doctrine, how widespread a problem child abuse really is in the org, things that i would never have found out if i was still in.
i can also understand why the gb don't like jws accessing the internet, there is far too much information about the wts on there for their liking.. the most important thing i have learned, or perhaps re - learned however, is the value of true, non - conditional friendship.
for so many years i thought the jws i mixed with were my true friends, but now i know they are not.

The biggest thing that made me really call it quits was the Mexican scam. The reading of Ray Franz books was really an eye opener.
Since then I have learned to use my mental faculties again.

1 Peter 3:15 - Why doesn't the WTS address it.?
by Gregor in1 peter 3: 14-15-16. read all three verses to frame the context of vs. 15 " ...be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
hey, i'm no fred franz but this scripture seems pretty easy to understand.
peter starts this letter by reminding everyone of all the fantastic things that this new born faith was promising, the return of christ, redemption for all, etc.

Good point Gregor, I tried to reason with my wife using this very scripture. All I got in response was that she wasn't going to throw her pearls before swine.

The Happiest People in the World
by MerryMagdalene inaccording to the results of the global "happiness study," australia has the happiest population with 46 percent saying they are very happy.
the united states is the second happiest country in the world at 40 percent followed by egypt (36 percent), and india (34 percent).
the u.k. and canada share the fifth spot with 32 percent claiming to be very happy.

I think happiness is relative. It would depend alot on ones situation at the time of questioning. Happiness can fade very quickly as we all know. There are so many variables. How many times do we hear people say " just give me a million bucks and I'll be happy". Yet there are so many people with money that are miserable. Just a thought. Im happy on at least one count though. Happy to be out of the borg.

Why can't you just move on?
by atypical inthat's what my wife said to me the night before last.
i was making an observation about the way my family and other jws in my life are constantly trying to get me to go to a meeting or read an awake, but they never want to sit down and address the questions i have raised to them.
she then asked me why i can't just move on.

She got so upset that she left the next morning after our discussion without saying a word, and she was gone all day. That has never, ever happened in the seven years of our marriage. I have decided that maybe I will force myself not to say a word; to try to live by example. I don't know what else to do.
Oh man this has happened to me too. Everytime my wife says anything scriptural around me and gets a different answer than she's looking for she gets all upset. I have to admit that I dont like playing biblical pingpong with her. I also at the same time cant give in to her and live a lie. Its really a hard life to live. Now add to that the fact that kids are involved and its just hell. Seriously man its so bad around here now that she doesn't even sleep with me anymore.( seperate bedrooms ).Hang in there. You are definately not alone. The Claw.

We all had a great time. Lily did not receive a head on a plate.....weird?
Ya know the WT always uses that lame excuse about the 2 beheadings. How bout people that die in car accidents. Does that mean I stop driving? Guess the WT never read Col 2:16. Maybe they should. While they're at it, they could also read the whole chapter of Romans 14.
That having been said, Im glad you guys had a great birthday party. I better watch out for that potatoe head guy.

What hoops would a DA'd person have to jump through to get reinstated?
by unbeliever ini know a woman in my ex congregation that da'd herself years ago and has been trying to get reinstated for the last 2+ years.
i rememeber it was quite the scandle when she left because she sent out some apostate literature and started going to church.
i can't imagine why she would go back to the lie after knowing it's history.

I was taught that Apostasy was the big unforgivable sin, the sin against the spirit. That might have changed since I last went to a meeting but if it still stands your friend might be sitting at the back for a LONG time yet.
Guess the damn WT needs to look at the account of King Manasseh? They need to dust of those bibles that they never use and do some real bible study. How about the prodigal son, the prostitute that Jesus forgave. I am glad I left. Never to return to the mire.
