Question about the distribution of Bethelites:
by whyizit ini am not a jw, so i don't know very much about some of these things.
recently a jw friend of mine called to invite me to the kh for a "talk" that a visiting speaker was giving.
she went on to say how they were down-sizing at bethel, due to equipment that is able to do the work, so they don't need as much man-power.

Things that still haunt you......
by whyizit ini heard a former jw lady give a talk and she said that even after leaving the wts and being a born-again christian for over 15 years, sometimes when she drives through certain neighborhoods that remind her of the homes that she used to have to go door-to-door at, she gets this pain in the pit of her stomach and that she had panic attacks for many years after.. she also said that one of her jw friends periodically calls her crying and begging her to give up her life of partying and running the bars, and come back to the jws.
she tries to explain that she doesn't do those things, but her friend just can't grasp that she left and is still a moral person who loves jehovah.. do any of you have similar experiences?
what were some of your biggest struggles?

Do the JWs believe that the great tribulation is happening now?
by whyizit ini just wondered about this, because in rev.
7:9, it speaks of the great crowd and in verse 14 and says that these are the ones that came out of the great tribulation.
verse 15 further states that they are before the throne of god, serving him day and night in his temple.

A JW MISCONCEPTION:
by whyizit inthat is why there is a baptist church here, and a lutheran church there....etc..... i belong to a community church that is non-denominational, and this belief is just not true.
many of the area churches, including our's, participate with and encourage each other.
we do not hate each other at all.

dogs and LIFE
by hamsterbait indoubt this will realy make a thread - .
i am just dumbfounded that the average american family dog is fed more animal protein per week than the average indian gets in a month.. how can we justify taking fish from protein starved peruvians and feeding them to our dogs?.
is it fair to say that the birth of an american baby is a greater disaster for the world than that of 25 indian babies .

Are Jehovah's Witnesses Christian?
by Scissorhands inlike mormons, jehovah's witnesses believe that christianity died with the last of the apostles.
they believe christianity was not resurrected until their founder, charles taze russell, began organizing the watchtower society in the 1870s.
in their view the cross is a pagan symbol adopted by an apostate church and salvation is impossible apart from the watchtower.

I Don't Think Prince Will Be Appointed an Elder Anytime Soon!
by Seeker4 inprince was just on american idol.
pretty sexy songs he did, with two women who sure weren't dressed to be on the tms!
he's just got to be too smart and creative to hang in with the witnesses for too much longer.

PETA Protest Backfires
by Stephanus inhttp://www.gjsentinel.com/news/content/news/stories/2006/05/18/5_18_1a_kfc_protest.html
a human inside an injured-chicken costume, hobbling in protest on the sidewalk wednesday in front of a kentucky fried chicken restaurant, didnt achieve the desired effect, according to many who dined there.. brad steig called wednesdays protest in grand junction by the people for the ethical treatment of animals good advertising for kfc.. the protest consisted of four adults and one child holding signs in front of the restaurant, handing out fliers and dvds and urging people to not eat at kfc until the restaurant buys chickens from humane vendors.. steig, a manager for halliburton, said he heard about the peta protest on the radio and decided right then to eat at kfc on wednesday, the day of the protest.. not only that, but he bought seven of the biggest buckets of chicken and all the side dishes and used four trips to load them into his halliburton pickup to treat his co-workers.
i don't know if there's an "ultimate" right-wingers' fantasy, but collecting 7 buckets of fried chicken in a halliburton pick-up in front of a peta protester must come pretty close.
