In the 60,s and 70,s you did not hear a lot of shunning..In fact I personally did not know anyone that was shun..Today there are many...AS a result of that policy what is the outcome..If you ask someone that is not a JW what they think of JW,s, the first commit that come out their mouth , they break up families..This is what JW,s are known for...

by passwordprotected ina good friend of mine dad a few months ago because he'd moved in with his 'worldly' g/f and he was already partially being stalked by the local boe.
since then his mother will have nothing to do with him, neither will his sister and her family.
a few of the more real jws that genuinely care about him have kept a level of contact up.

As of tomorrow I will no longer be a JW
by passwordprotected inafter my last post where i asked for advice on how to handle whether i should tell an elder that we've been going to church, i decided to tell a local elder who's related to me through marriage.
this was to save my dad having to 'report' me (i'd told my dad we go to church).
anyway, i had an interesting chat with him and he said some very personally revealing things re.

speaking of the baptism churchs, what impress me was how that treat individuals who was undergoing spiritual weekness..For example, someone that have a problem with drugs or alcohol, he or she are embrace by the church, the church pray with them..they are not shun and told you need too read the bible and go out more in service...I have never heard of a church cutting off association with someone that is not living up to God,s standards....I am sure this is the case with other traditional religions...

A QUESTION THAT PUZZLE ME, WHY WOULD ANYONE THAT WAS MARRIED BECOME OF THE ANNOINTED..IT WAS AFTER I LEFT THE BORG. DID I UNDERSTAND WHY.MY SISTER ATE THE BREAD AND WINE FOR 20-30YRS.. HER HUSBAND OF 40YRS OR MORE WAS VERY ABUSIVE. HE IS A ELDER, ONCE REMOVED FOR THE REASON,,SHE PASS TWO YEARS AGO. THE REASON SHE WANTED TO GO HEAVEN, TOO GET AS FAR AWAY FROM HER HUSBAND AS POSSIBLE. SHE HAD A TERRIBLE LIFE HERE ON EARTH..THEN SHE CAN BRING VENGEANCE FROM ABOVE.. MY SISTER NEEDED MENTAL HELP, THE YEARS OF ABUSIVE HAD TAKEN ITS TOLL..WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO LEAVE THE LOVE ONE FOREVER UNLESS THERE WAS A PROBLEM......

Things That Irritated You When You Were A JW

whatever you would say, the note takers were busy as a bee writing down every word.
especially if you went out of town to give a talk, certain ones (only sisters) would take their note taking very very seriously.. another thing that used to get to me was when you'd see the same people every assembly on the platform giving a talk or being in a part.

longhair gal you are so right..I serve in central america and there was a local brother that travel by boat to the meetings. His story was told by those who serve where the need is great. But they left out , the brother would make these trips two are three times a week to buy things in town.His children loved it because it gave them a opportunity to visit other people and enjoy the city..It was know big deal for locals to travel this way..There was a kingdom hall we would visit in the bush..The worst hall I had ever visit, rats,mosquito,bats and all kind of bugs.. The story back in the states, the poor Brothers in central america meets in a hall with all these creatures and never miss a meeting. Too keep the creatures out all was needed was screens for the windows, and the kingdom hall wasn,t in the bush , a small town but it wasn,t the bush...

gb losch seems to be the top dog for dumbness.. in the local halls i've seen and heard many dumb elders open their mouths.. one elder had a fondness for bible prophecy and watchtower chronology.
he always speculated on what the "watchtower really means" about a statement in print.

I encourage you to see a mental health pro. When i left the borg. I was a mental wreck. What made my mental state of mind so bad, I was suffering from PTSD from vietnam when I became witness.So after leaving the witness and my family abandoned me I was devastated. Any stress in my life would cause me to pass out for hours on end, it was a terrible time in my life. I lost my job, I became a introvert, I could not leave the house alone. That was 10 yers ago. Just like you said I knew what cause my anxieties but I needed help. The VA mental health help me with the PTSD and he also help me with the leaving the borg. If you drink , stop....that makes matters worst. I lost my wife and four kids.Today I have a new loving wife and three of my kids we have a good relationship. There was a time before I cut complete ties with borg. I was trying too be reinstated. Big mistake, my anxieties where worst. When I begain my visits with the psychologist only then did my life begain moving in a right direction.

Farting at the Kingdom Hall.

once at the circuit assembly, the after noon talk when everyone had just eaten lunch and you little sleepy, heads are bobbing up and down trying to stay awake. This little elder sister who was sitting near the front starting up the aisle. As she came up the aisle the frinds where laughing uncontrolably.I found out why when she past our row.This sister was ripping off farts all the way up the aisle. I am sure the frinds was wondering what was so funny in our section. That incident woke all the frinds up. The poor sister never return too her seat. There is a direct connection between old age and gas.

Senior Citizens......How does your congregation treat them?
by crazyblondeb innot as good as they use too... but then again they are following the lead of the wts.
why bother with fellowship when you can plug everyone into the telephone.. one one hand they are pushing fs, on the other they are making so many changes that several of the elderly are getting depressed, especially ever since the may 1, 2007 qfr.
with the afternoon bs soon yanked, many not allowed to drive at night, and elderships that don't care enough to orchestrate carpools....it is bad..

another sad story, my next door neighbor and I became good friends,he is a JW, not a very active one. He goes to the meetings each sunday a once in while in service but he still a JW. I never told him I was once a member. So he would try to convert me and I would try to do the same to him. Friends for two years. He had a massive heart attack. He live with his sister she wasn.t a JW.Because he had the heart attack she had too work in order to pay bills. For six months he received 3-4 visits from the borg. and most of the times a was a single elderly sister.My wife and I took care of him. That was two years ago, he had since moved, but only 10min. away..He would come back and visit when he came over to visit his sister. A few months ago two sister came by in the door to door work. They knew that a brother use to live next door, and I told them I use to be a jw. Well you know what happen, that went to the brother home to inform him I was a the big A... I have not seen him since,he still visit his sister... We never charge him or his sister for the care we gave him, he was my friend and neighbor. His sister told me that the sisters the JW had visit him.
