i took my family to red lobster tonight and shortly after we were seated ( it was about 5 pm- early) a large party came in and took up two tables next to us.
one young woman had a very loud laugh and because of that i kept looking at their table.
then i noticed a young black couple with a toddler- then i noticed all the men had suits and ties- then i noticed three single men were sitting together and three single women next to them- and finally one young couple that i decided were married.

i am so mad right now.
last night i went to the grocery store.
they have ten packs of soda for 10 dollars.
Here's my 2 cents to your situtation, your decision to dump soda is a wise choise, instead of all that sugar in sodas there are other healthy drinks for your children. some of my extended family members are diabetic from dirinking too much sodas, I quit drinking sodas to lower my blood sugar.
on that food issue, when my older childern were teenagers they did eat alot because they were involved in sports after school. now, my pre-teen eats alot when he gets home from school. boys can't wait to eat, when they are hungry they want to eat anything in sight.
for the lying about the food disappearing, nobody wants to admit the truth because they are all guilty. what good will come out of it? if one of them becomes a snitch and tattle-tale on the others. have a good talk with all of them, if they are to cook make something for the whole family instead of themselves.
carry on...make it work!

my name is, mike warren... that's my real age in my profile...& yes that's my real pic.
though i was never baptized, i was raised in the silly religion... my parents started their study in early 1974 (at least i got 1birthday &1 christmas, not that i remember...) mom was baptized in less than a year after she started her study... it took my father about 7-8 more years to give up smoking, but he still made all the meetings & ruled with a leather belt.. i also have a younger sister that has faded (she got baptized).

can a cartoon trigger ww3?
do not underestimate the latest furor over the 'hostile' mohammad cartoon published in european newspapers recently.. in case you've been out of contact, newspapers in denmark, norway, france and germany have published a cartoon of the prophet mohammad wearing a turban in the shape of a bomb with a burning fuse.
the cartoon is offensive to muslims the world over since the prophet may not be displayed in public places, let alone caricaturized.
WOW!! now I see why this cartoon is really in bad taste. I downloaded all them just in case that site was disconnected. I'm just wondering if this picture will be censored.

has anyone communicated with the dead, and who do you think it was?
what was your experience?.
do you believe it to be the spirit of a person, or a demon, or some other explaination such as a hoax?.
The closest I have experience with the dead is by feeling that they are no longer among the living, I get physically ill just before I heard the news of some of my relatives unexpected death.
a couple of times I have experience that person presence, it can be a warm or a cold chill that comes into the room (I found it depends on that person's personality). when my father passed away my daughter and I both felt his warm presence at the same time, we were putting together a picture display of my late father and suddenly we got this weird experience that he was looking back at his life though our picture collage of him. we both said at the same time time, "did you feel that?"
In some native american cultures they say the spirit linger around for awhile.

i have been slowly preparing myself for when my jw mother dies.
she has diabetes, and she's not taking care of it.
she continues to eat and drink heavily sugared foods.
When my father passed away, we had the option of writing his obituary and submited a picture of him to several local newspapers. the only newspaper that charge us money was a major newspaper, that major newspaper charge by the lines and if we wanted a picture to be included all that was extra, so it really depends on the policy of the newspaper.
And I agree with you about having a separate family funneral and JW memorial. when my late father had his JW memorial is was a disgrace, the elder threw a hissy fit because the family members wanted a eulogy for my father and the elder said that he couldn't do his "special talk" if our family inculded a eulogy. in the end I reminded this elder that he made a promise to my mother that he would be there and help out our family, so he had to give his boring talk with scriptures about redemption from resurrection to all us non-JW family members.
Looking back on my father's funneral, I do remember everyone of the JW's bringing their bibles and looking up scriptures, it was a good thing we buried my sister's bible with my father. she couldn't attend because her grandson came into the world exacly the same time we had that memorial for him.
I know exactly where your coming from about your mom, my elderly JW mother is not in the best of health. our family has made pre-burial arrangements for her with the funneral home. I'm not looking forward for my elderly mother passing the way I see it now, each day is a blessing to have her alive on this earth.
got a moster truck driving session for christmas - can't wait to give it a go !
I don't think I can get into a monster truck without a ladder...my daughter purchase a truck with a lift and that truck is hard to get into, the upside of it...the view is nice
