I chose my name because I think it reflects my overall outlook on life.
I have sad moments too, but all in all I love my life and everything about it!
i think some people actually use part of their real name.
i chose mine because i really feel 'in between', in that space where your not a jw anymore but really haven't figured out where you are in life and what path you want to take.
just thought it would be an interesting topic.

last night i was at wal-mart with a friend of mine.. as we were going in .......i saw a group of people with convention badges on.
they seemed out of place on a sat evening, dressed in suits and christian attire.. i could not help but think that they just had two days of their spiritual feeding and the superior feeling that comes over jw's at that time.
the leaving of the convention out into the world.. here i was, feeling "worldly" .......i felt a tinge of guilt go through me for not being at the convention.
They revel in their seperateness...
It seems so many Witnesses love nothing better than to stand out in a crowd as if to say- "Look at me, I'm different, I'm better, I know something you don't know".
Personally, I hated standing out like that, and hated wearing the badges everywhere. I didn't feel superior... just weird.
hey all,.
it's 230am here and i'm at work.
we're installing new software, which we have to do at night when everybody is off the various systems.. hopefully we'll get outta here by 4am.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one up at un-godly hours...
Just got done watching "Dark Water" and now hubby is back on the computer attempting to take over the world... or the universe, or something. So now maybe I'll make plans with my aposta-buddies to take over the WBTS... hey, you got to start somewhere, and I'm all out of star fighters...
Ok... It's late and I've had too many rum and cherry cokes...
find jwd?
i found this website while i was looking for the company that you can get service stuff from, i believed it was the "truth" and was a pioneer at the time, not a pioneer anymore.
so how did you get here and what has changed in your life since you found this place?.
I'm pretty sure I found this board through a link on one of the various JW "Information" sites. It may have been Quotes or some such... I don't really remember. Like others, I started with the "Best of..." sections and spent literally several straight days doing nothing but reading. It was such a relief to know I wasn't alone!
there was an announcement at the alaskan district assembly last week that the alaskan branch will now be integrated into the us branch.
prior to this alaska's number were always counted separately.
i wonder what this means?
Wow! Seriously? There was a branch up here??? That was news to me... but then I never paid attention to the small font in the magazines... I was only concerned with making sure it looked like I had studied them before the Sunday Study.
Like someone else said... they must have overseen more than just this state itself, I can't believe that there was enough going on here to warrant a separate branch. I've lived in this state for 13 years and never once had Witnesses at my door...
Unless maybe they were counting those fishing lodges as branches???
it's been two years since my da and yet with over a 28 year period of meetings i can still see every meeting in my mind.
everyone sitting in their same seats, the same ones throwing up their hands to answer, the same elders standing in the same place after the meetings to talk to the same people.
it begins to seem sureal.
Thank goodness- NO!
Meetings have all kind of faded to a distant nightmare.... I can still remember tons of details, but I can't quite wrap my head around sitting there hour after boring hour and managing to stay awake.
But then, I think the last meeting I went to was in 1993.
i can't sleep, i'm usually up until 2 (or later) every night.......then the alarm goes off at 6:30 and i'm up to start my day.
i find that i'm more alert and productive in the night time, however i am sooo tired of not being able to sleep.
so how about you, night owl or early bird?
Night Owl! I'd much rather stay up till two o'clock in the morning and get up at about 10 am. I'm much happier pretty much denying the existence of mornings....
does anyone have a recipe for making a cold pack which won't freeze solid?
i've looked in pharmacies for them and don't want to spend the money they charge for them.
I've been known to use a sock filled with rice and tied at the top in a pinch.... The cold doesn't seem to last long enough with those though... So I use plastic ziplock bags filled with crushed ice now... cheap and easy, especially with three girls in the house that seem to get more bumps, bruises and sprains then any ten boys put together....
(i get the distinct impression that our dear friend mary is responsible for this rant....) .
dear kotex.
i recently noticed that the peel-off strip of my pantiliner had a bunch of kotex tips for life" on it.
Holy cow, that's friggin' halarious!
No caffeine??? What about the cramps and headaches I get when I DON'T drink my three cups of coffee in the morning???
do you find yourself scanning the posts of new ones here hoping in the back of your mind that it's a friend or relative who has finally "seen the light"?.
there are several people i am always watching for.... my best friend from high school, the only friend i was allowed to have since she was the only girl my age in the kh.
and my brothers... extremely bright and intelligent guys, but very wrapped up in gaining my fathers and the congregations approval.

I keep hoping one of these days I'll see a post that starts with- "Hi, I'm from the Oregon coast and this is my first post here...."
*sigh*
