I have to say that it was torelable in my house. My dad would do the bible reading and we would take turns...he would always stop at a word and we would have to finish it. That way he knew we were paying attention. He would also read the year book and we had a huge world map.... he would give us the name of a city and we had to find it and tell him the lnagitude and longitude of the city...I kinda thought that was fun.. not so studish....

Fun family study? Tolerable?
by Gopher inwas there ever such at thing in jw families, or is this phrase oxymoronic?.
sometimes the meetings encouraged "variety" in family studies, assigning certain research projects to different family members, or setting up a bible reading as though it were a play.. none of that happened in my family.
it was just dry question-and-answer.

I received a package from my mother today
by ex-nj-jw inmy dub mother sent me a package today, inside was a nwt bible, a picture of me around age 5 at an assembly - i looked miserable and my dad was holding a battery operated fan in front of me, and a letter, here is the letter.
i ask that you remember that i was 18 when i left and i'm now 42, that there is a total of 8 children in my family and there are only 2 that are still jw's, oh and that my mother is a complete nutcase!

Steve 2 thats soo funny I was cracken up. Thanks for the hugs....i've been dealing with her e-mails for a long time and i'm just about ready to either give her a peice of my mind or just tell her that when my mom comes back she can call me cause obviously your out to lunch.
I do have a scan i have to put up here......I know there are so many other "daughters" going through what I am....this will so.... show you how she thinks. Shes a bit nuts.....ok maybe more then a bit.

To believe or not believe...
by changeling inthat seems to be the question around here lately.. people's panties have been getting into quite a twist over this one.. personally, i don't believe.
but i'd like to put that aside and focus on something else.. i'd like to focus on: now what?.
what can we individually and collectively do to make this planet a better place to live?

I try to recycle and we already use those energie efficent bulbs. I f you talking about the environment then I try to do my part. As far as other things....its always a struggle...i try different things to improve life and to help my family to be happy....mostly its inner change for me...discovery...although I haven't been discovering much lately cept that crayon can be a bitch to get off walls.....: P
I was telling my husband the other day.....If we could manage it ..I would love to have acerage to have my own little farm and animals on and just kinda ba able to do things for ourselves. Maybe I was born in the wrong century........then again maybe not.......: )

Not allowed to sleep over - is that weird?
by collegegirl21 inokay, so my guy and i have been together for 10 months and we usually are ok together.
but there is something that has been getting to me and i think its unusual, but please correct me if i'm wrong - he won't let me sleep over at his house.
and he hardly ever stays at my house, he's maybe stayed here 3 times in our whole relationship.

I used to play with him. For a long time....after awhile i got bored. He plays online with his "friends" and talks to them. Its just not that fun for me. Everytime I turn around i get killed. I do still play every once in a while...but its just not fun...we aren't comunticating besides go over there and get that guy there. Its like sitting down watching t.v....Its nice sometimes but it doesn't really bond you. Now, we both love to play paintball together...but during the summer time its to hot. I usually have crafts and art that i do but I always rotate through them.different things..scrapbooking one months painting the next.and so on... I get tired of the same thing day after day. Sometimes I want to play cards or something different but for him its the xbox. He likes to fall asleep with the t.v. on....every night..... I usually let him do this but sometimes it would nice to do things different. Hes becoming more of a hermit.....if I say i want to throw a dinner party...its all up to me....he says he'll be there.......and don't get me started on the possibility if there is another gamer there.....the t.v. goes on and the xbox is running
