  i remember every family study (lucky to be 4 per year) were a rotation of about 3 young people ask chapters all somewhere involving masturbation. we were 4 boys but it was cos my mum kept catching my younger brother jacking off. and finding suspicious socks under his bed... lol

  i was born in 1964, a convenient 50 years after 1914. even in my early teens i was doing the sums.

  i had a worse case scenario figured out - if the 1914 generation could apply to babies and even if they lived to be a 120, i would still only be about 70 years old after they'd all died!

  i figured that i was part of the first wave of 'jehovah's people' that really would live to see the new order - guaranteed!!

  I didn't even KNOW about the knew light in 1995 until just a few months ago!

  im in that boat! i was shocked.

  Ive enjoyed reading this thread immensly. unclebruce your a champ. id love to chat about your studys as i plan to go to uni when i return to oz. i think you did a few more years in the sweat shop than i did. but I can relate to you. your a real success story.

  like itsallgoodnow said shes an underachiever, i was the same but plan to go to school when i get back to oz. its never too late. and a friend of mine who was an electrician(although being one of the smartest guys ive ever met) was recently dissed and has gone after his true passion and gone to uni to study law.

  theres hope for our misguided, detoured bunch.

  UPDATE: telling my parents I dont believe in God

  my parents have noticed my negative and sad attidude lately, whenever were going to the meetings or studying and so on.

  but they just think that i am negative and sad in general.

  i dont think they think that its spesifically because im being dragged to the meetings.. so lately we have had a lot of "serious" talks, because theyre worried for me.

  what you do from now on is entirely your decision but i thought of what id do if i were 15 again (im 26 now)- Id tell my parents I felt closed in in the religion. tell them i wanted to make my own way in life and work things out for myself but realised I lived under their roof and if they wanted me to continue going to meetings i would however fieldservice would be a problem as i am not sure enough of my beleifs to preach to other people 'yet' (give them a glimmer of hope that youll come around). I wouldnt tell them I didnt believe in god or that jws are wrong as you would have better luck telling a brick wall (it wont compute). and respect theyre authority. prove your mature enough to make this decision, help with the running of the house, if theyre witnessing mow the lawn. fix the fence wash your old mans car. your gonna have to learn to do that stuff one day anyway.

  do not- go off the rails, start smoking or bring your girlfriend home. Hide you pot like everyone else.

  not going to meetings is not a licence to go nuts.

  this is my humble opinion, what you do is entirely up to you.

  ive done yoga just for the stretching its good for surfing and very relaxing, and it feels like your circulation is better for it or something, but i had doubts about the jws cos my mum always sounds like the mother off 'waterboy'.

  i showed it to my mom (half-active jw) yesterday and she was shocked by the amount of spin and manipulation the wts resort to.

  i guess it's worth reading by newbies whatever their current "stand on blood" may be.. pole.

  I hadnt seen that site before, i recommend everyone to go to the link and read the entire site, the fact alone that it is an anonomys site run by active and 'high up' JWs is incredibly powerful (sounds like they are experiencing a crisis of concience) the info on the site is amazing.

  I will add it to the arsenal for my family, id love to just respect them and let them live their way but I cant let them die, my father has a family history of heart problems and i think the blood issue is going to hit 'like a theif in the night' and while everybody is praying and waiting to be told what to do by the society ill come in guns blazing.

  The fact that the r & f is so under informed is a tool we should be using to show their incompitence to make this life threatening decision and prove that they are acting on WHATEVER the society tells them. I know thats gonna be my main amunition when i get the court order to administer...

  i was just wondering if there was anyone else out there whose "friends" came to the elders and told them a bunch of fabricated crap about you before your "meeting with the elders.

  " i had people that i grew-up with tell them that they had "personally seen me beat-up my mom.

  " i had also been known to "host seances" in my parent's basement.

  man ive got a STORY for you, i had MAJOR accusations, all false, it backfired big time but i was too stupid (didnt want to make waves in the cong) to take it further and make some of these slanderers heads roll. i want to post it here but it was quite big news and people from oz will know who I am. I just want to try to deconvert my family by getting them to read 'crisis of concience' and let them know my views before they hear accusations that theyre beloved son is an apostate and clam up.

  maybe if i meet you at a fest ill give you the lo-down (its a doosie)

  my eventual disfellowsipping for fornication 2 years later (the 'sins' happened 9 months after the accusations) was used as 'proof' that they were all true. Ive got some unfinished business in there but i wanna hit em where it hurts. steal theyre sheep!

  i'm wondering what the funniest thing you ever saw at the memorial was?.

  for me it was when one of the mentally ill ladies in the congregation came to the kh with the back of her dress cut out because she said she was telling the demons to kiss her butt.. she walked right up to the front row, past everyone and sat down.. there were brothers running to block everyones view but it was quite clear that she was not even wearing undies.. this particular sister was always talking about the demons.

  last night i was out with my friends and i ran into another ex-jw.

  based on the conversation with this ex-jw, my friends could tell that i was hiding something.

  i think i will have to tell my friends that i was a jw.

  I told the people at my new job because it was my birthday and they were throwing me a little party and they asked 'so do you call your parents or what are you gonna do' I replied 'no my parents are both JWs in fact this is my first birthday party ever' after a pause someone said 'well we better make it a good one, susan start cutting' we all laughed, there was about 3 people that gave me sideways looks of about 15. But i didnt care peoples opinions are their own, the beauty of being out is that you can CHOOSE your friends, so if theyve got a problem with me, theyre losing out, cya!

  After that I didnt mention it anymore except to my girlfriend and people that needed to know. its a subject i dont want to discuss because ive moved on from it. i did too much opening up to strangers in the truth and it gives people power over you. and i think it makes you look

  1 stupid for being able to be brainwashed 2 you left so disloyal, not able to follow thru.

  its a tricky decision to tell someone, how you say it too 'yeah i wanted to find god and got stuck in a cult' 'what happenend?' 'well luckily they realised what im really like and kicked me out' laugh it off.

  when i was going to the kingdumb hall people were being actively disfellowshipped for smoking because it was bad for you and an insult to jehovah.. how come nobody disfellowshipped the 400 pound sister who brought her own chair or stood in the back because she couldn't fit in her chair?.

  why didn't anyone disfellowship the bookstudy leader for looking pregnant when he obviously wasn't.. why is cigarette addiction bad but not food addiction.. just wondering?

  My little brother was really hungry one day and we were cheering him on and he ate 24 weetbix, he was about 10 and mustve had a rubber stomach. My mum heard us and went off her brain, she told him jehovah was very angry at him and he wouldnt get into the new system. I thought he was a legend.

  now hes 6'1 and greek god.

  my uncles record was 16 we had to ride our bikes to his house and get more sugar, he never mentioned his RECORD again at the relo bashs.

  recently i was reading and writing posts of why lot would offer his daughters to the men of sodom and someone else was asking or commenting on why uzziah was killed for trying to stop the ark of c. from falling.

  well, lo and behold, the feb 1st watchtower addresses both of these questions and suggests that we should not be questioning these events as god knows what he's doing?.
