I'd love to have a customized reality browser, or internet service, or cable service, that simply doesn't waste your time with certain things. I'd like to not hear the first or last thing about Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, any Kardashian, Ghost Hunters, WWE, Real Wives of whatever, things whose sole calibrated rationale is drama. Can you do that, gods of technology? I'm not saying block out news of what bad happens in Africa or Phillipines or Syria, etc. Mainly American things. Things that qualify as bread and circuses. Deadliest Catch was good and probably cannot be emulated again.

Fate of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by Thoughtless init disheartens me the most when there is a possibility that faithful, hardworking, honest witnesses may be destroyed or be put out of god's favor.
a lot of brothers and sisters have risked their lives because they thought they were doing the right thing to please them.
so for those who still believe in god/afterlife, do you think that these witnesses are out of god's memory?

A nice detente if you need a god. Good for JWs worrying about not matching up to one collosal prick. Not so effective at answering how or why, exactly, it is that an omnipotent being deliberately allows the heinous crimes and events we witness, yet disallows evidence of his existence that could satisfy the processes we humans use to understand the physical world he made.
I mean - every plastic molded item you have has those little tabs or sprues of excess plastic at the entry point of the mold, that give evidence that the item came from a mold. The universe so far doesn't have much in the way of these ubiquitous plastic sprues that reveal the design, the manufacture, etc. If I saw a sprue, even one sprue that could be separately verified by multiple observers, then, presto!, I become absolutely fine with the thought that god exists and is simply a collosal prick. Those who need a god also require these little plastic sprues to indicate a prior, a mold, a greater context, and so they need to devise sprues and the pre-textual explanation of how those devised sprues prove the existence of a deity. And not just a deity, but a deity that isn't a collosal prick. So much work, so much creativity, so much invention, so much creative art, involved.

Let the apostle smoke his crack pipe in peace or have a neurological disorder in peace or just be a painter in words without making yourselves the Ptolemaic fracking center of all time and space, you glorious abusers of people's grocery and gas money.

Did you think Dinosaurs were destroyed in the Flood?
by LoisLane looking for Superman inin our jw bible, they placed a friendly dinosaur on the inside front cover on the old time map of the middle east.. you look at that, and see where the placement to where the garden of eden is and that was the image i got in my mind.
dinosaurs lived, but were too big to save in the flood, and besides they had outlived their purpose of fertilizing the earth.
i feel stupid for the thinking i had when i was 'in'.. is that how you 'thought' when you were 'in'?.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teratornithidae
"Teratornis woodburnensis. [ 2 ] The first species to be found north of the La Brea Tar Pits, this partial specimen was discovered at Legion Park, Woodburn, Oregon. It is known from a humerus, parts of the cranium, beak, sternum, and vertebrae which indicate an estimated wingspan of over 4 meters (14 ft). The find dates to the late Pleistocene, between 11,000 and 12,000 years ago, in a strata which is filled with the bones of Mastodon, Sloth and Condors, and bears evidence of human habitation."

Education Double Standard

wtbts holds out an extreme double standard in regards to education.
most, if not all, of you know how they feel about obtaining an education past high school (in the u.s.).

DEC 2013 WT Article - Slave for Jehovah - warning: ranting ahead
by ohnightdivine inthis morning's wt study almost made me vomit, stand up, pick up my bag and rush to the door.. of course it never happened.
instead, i was able to make some nice drawings on my tablet and notepad.. if you replace the name jehovah with watchtower, or the governing 8 men, it would really make sense.. what's up with all that nonstop guilt-mongering about education and having a decent job?!.
most people look down on the uneducated, and i remember, when i didn't have a job, nobody cared!.

I just want to drop the statistical and demographic fact that 1 in 5 of the United State's graduate students are 40 years old or above. When I started looking into grad school at 40, I felt like I really didn't belong, that I was out of my cohort, that I would be an unnecessary drain on resources. And yet there was this other old-timer seemingly hanging in there with the other students in their twenties. Some fact checking later, and it turned out that out of our class of ten, he and I actually conform to the national statistics. I *think* what this means is that just because you're older, and presumably have beaten the odds to get your bachelors, doesn't exonerate you from a generalized responsibility to at least see if grad school is feasible.

How different Jehovah's people are! When I was pioneering a fellow pioneer regaled me to the glorious coolheadedness and nearly worldly calm with which his second-generation elder father, apparently doing the only proper thing that one can do when a stray female cat has left some mewling presents that you do not personally want, in his loving kindness took each kitten one by one, held it up in the air at arms length, and with the most profound respect for Jehovah's creation, aimed a 12 gauge along that arm, carefully, and tenderly blew its head off. This feat of strength and daring was to me quite different from the stories I would hear of the other elders who went to the Rockies and took down bear and large game, so as to eat it.
