  Oh My Gosh! I just discovered Cornbread Casserole!

  we were invited to a friend's house for dinner and our hostess served pot roast with an out of sight salad and corn casserole.

  i tried the cassarole and loved.

  made a pan a couple of days ago and no one will eat but me but i don't care.

  I'm making the cornbread casserole this week.
  
  Someone mentioned ox tail. Damn.........I love ox tail soup but the price is almost as high as steak around here. Then again.........the entrepenourial butchers are calling any tail from a cow....ox tail now! Kinda hard to find when most people in a community are raised on fast food.

  2008: Posters you havent seen in awhile..who do you miss?

  i was looking for a photo that was posted here awhile back (over a year ago)... i found it ).... and realized i havent seen some of those people post here in awhile... a few i see posting on other boards.... any posters you miss "seeing" here?

  maybe they will start posting again on jwn?.

  merry christmas to you jwd alumni may you have a great 2009 (even if you dont post here again...i miss seeing some of you).

  I've been here since 2004 and have met so many online and some in person. I even fell in love with a poster here but it was short lived.
  
  Many names have already been mentioned who I think about, but one poster's welfare I'd love to know about is CZAROFMISCHIEF.
  
  Years ago when I was an elder, I had known his father (also an elder) from another KH in the circuit. We attended the same CA's.
  
  If you remember any of CZAR's posts, he joined the Army and went to OCS and became a second louie. He hasn't posted in over two years.
  
  CZAR, if you read this, I am hoping and praying that you are doing well. Stay safe my friend and have a good life.

  Joel Osteen on Larry KIng

  i just saw joel osteen on larry king on cnn.

  i don't know a lot about joel osteen.

  i've never read his books or watched him on tv but i was struck with how positive he is and how upbeat and encouraging his message is.

  Joel is a very good speaker but his prosperity gospel is not the gospel of the Bible.
  
  When have you ever heard him preach about Jesus for any length of time?
  
  He only talks about what it takes for you to make yourself feel good.
  
  He selects scriptures from here and there just like the WTBTS does to enhance the point he is trying to make.
  
  No real substance in his preaching as to doing what Jesus says to do.

  I can't believe what I did.

  so yesterday i was watching the news and i saw something about secret santa.

  there is this movement of people who hand random strangers $100 bills at places like laundry mats and thrift stores.

  so i was "moved" and decided to give it a shot.

  You're a special person for doing this. It doesn't matter what she does with the money because I'm sure she will use some of it on the kids.
  
  I did something similar a few years ago, but it wasn't quite $100.00

  i need to let you know that dad passed away this morning at 8am.

  he fought so hard but in the end they could not get his blood pressure to rise and he died of heart failure.

  And UGLY response to a Christmas Card!

  boy..just when i thought things couldnt get weirder in my life...i spent a whole day designing a christmas newsletter with colorful pictures and stories about what my kids and family have been doing, and the election and you know...year end things and greetings, to send out.

  i do this every year.

  this year i had to file bankruptcy in august and decided to email the newsletter to save money.

  I hope your marriage is a solid one because some women would not put up with this. Seems like your husband puts $$$$$ from "daaddyy" in front of you.......his wife!

  all of this is code for: one who is not ready to really study and accept how the leadership of jehovah's witnesses use the bible to their own self serving means.

  but to be fair, jw's teach that most all of these characters refer to the leadership of jehovah's witnesses, the governing body.

  Thanks for the great post Jeff. It is a real eye opener. I'm one who can't really put my thoughts into words and print. Ones like you and others on this forum show maturity and reasonableness when explaining the BS we once were so eager to believe. I wish you a good life in whatever you choose to do. HappyDad

  I think it would be wonderful if TJ or anyone else on the GB would do like Ray Franz and write the tell all books of all tell all books.
  
  That would make for some interesting reading. It could be titled "ANOTHER CRISIS OF CONSCIENCE"
