  What's The Worst Thing About Ever Having Been A Jehovah's Witness?

  for me, it's the waste of precious time and being lied to.. stupid time consuming things to do that are utterly worthless!

  and on top of that being told that you were going to live forever on paradise if you followed their decrees..

  Thirty plus wasted years of burning gasoline just to count time in FS knocking on doors and hating every minute of it. (there were a few good calls) Thirty plus wasted years of feeling like an outsider everywhere except the KH and never having any real friends, just conditional ones. One of the worst thing of all was denying my daughter a college education (she had to turn down scholarships) just so our family wouldn't stumble any of the condemning JW's we were associated with. In my early years of being a JW, I still had time to use my VA benefits to get some education for myself but didn't because the system was ending in 1975. (sheesh)!

  And now that I know.....I guess I should add that it was thirty plus years of being taught falsehoods and believing most of them until the doubts started in a little at a time. I could think of many more worst things but I should stop at this.

  So sorry to hear this! Losing a loved one is never easy. I'm just glad that you had somewhat of a relationship with your Dad. My heartfelt condolences go to you and yours.

  Dang......he was young! I guess because I'm now 64 that this kind of loss hits me.Hoping I have more years left to spend with my daughter....the only family that loves me since leaving the JW's.

  Homeless, laid off Bethelites living in tents in VA.

  a regular caller to our six screens of the watchtower conference call david w. contacted the six screens tele-network on sept. 1, 2011 and reported that allegedly some laid off bethelites were living in tents behind a giant food store in virginia.. david stated their were two well dressed men and a young women around 30 years old temporally living behind the supermarket.. the woman according to david said she was trying to get to florida but did not have the money for the trip.. david said the police arrived and questioned the homeless people and they told the police that they were recently released from the watchtower org in ny.

  the police made no charges.. has anyone else heard of this happening?.

  This is more than I can really believe! Has Rick totally lost it?

  I know the JW's are screwed up from the top down.....but this is too much to believe. If these two so called JW's were involved in a cong. even after being laid off from Bethel, they would not be doing this. If these two are "real", then there is more involved than what the Koolaid drinker is basing this sensationalism on.

  Dang Rick.....does your family actually support this stuff from you? If so, you must be living on a dangerous chemical dump in your community that has affected all of you.

  onacruise - Craig Mills 1952-2011

  i was given the link to a bit of information regarding on old poster/moderator of this forum.

  i was not sure of the validity of the information so have been trying to find out if it is true.. earlier today craig's estranged wife, kate, (bikerchic) confirmed that craig died at his home on aug 10, 2011.. i am sure that many people here remember craig's time here and how he went out of his way to offer support to posters, even calling them, to give whatever help he could as they adjusted to their post-jw lives.. i know many people here will grieve his loss.. --------------.

  Go to Randy's Freeminds sight and print copies of who was on the translating committeeof the NWT. They had no Biblical "historical" or "language" knowledge at all but change the Bible to make the JW religious beliefs seem as if it was a God ordained organization. Now the average JW will say that since it came from the internet, it is lies spread with the demons behind it. Go figure! But then again.....I as well as thousands of others thought the same way at one time. How great to be free!

  Wouldn't the predators on the ark have eaten everything by the time the 40 days was over?

  let say noah did manage to get all the species into the ark... about half of them would have been predators and the other half natural prey.. are we going to belive that they went without eating for 40 days and nights?

  or the ridiculous theory as the wt would have it that noah fed them nice tasty bales of straw which they happily munched on?.

  and even if one of these two exhuses were true, when the animals were let out of the ark into a world now deverstated by a flood, then wouldn't they have continued eating eachother???

  Oh my goodness! What kind of "Witness" were you, not even knowing the basics? (just kidding). Remember, we were always taught that all animals only ate vegetation until after the flood. Then they became meat eaters. Those long sharp teeth were for stripping an gnawing the lush vegetation at the time. As far as all the poop goes, Noah and his family must have done a lot of shoveling every day. And until after the flood, there was no disease.

  Just remember....when you are studying, they all love you and are over you like ants on sugar melting in the hot sun. When you quit studying, where are they? They can't be bothered with you. That should tell you something.

  If you progress to the point of baptism, then you are on your own again. The huggy-kissy friendship goes by the wayside since they cannot count time anymore.

  All shops in Birmingham England are been looted and set on fire !

  i live in staffordshire and we have reports of shops on fire in tamworth.

  wtf is going on... the high value shops are missing all there rails now and just herd chemsley wood and dudley are on fire... .

  on friday morning i got a phone call from someone who was interested in buying a utility trailer i had for sale.

  the man came over and looked at it and ended up buying it.

  i invited him inside our home to fill out the paper work.

  This is a good report TADD,

  My story is similar to yours and that is why I'm a Christian today and attend my church regularly. I have found more love in the Christian churches than I ever had in over 30 years going to a KH.
